Considering that a lot of boxing day sales now start on the 23 or 24th it's kind of useless, the sales are too late to use them to buy Christmas presents but they're too early to buy things for yourself. Just crank up Black Friday and shut everything down Dec 24-27.

Easily doable
Go before 10am sport Chek no tax
UA CGI Hacker jacket $169.99 + a list coupon + save the tax = $152.99
Scott Offgrid goggle $79.99 + a list coupon + save the tax = $71.99

That leaves u $75 for gloves
When all gloves are 25% off and u can stack a list coupon and no tax.

If you try a bit harder you can probably do the whole thing for under $250

Walmart will have the Uncharted bundle for $349. Most places have the bundle + 1 game for $369 so it really depends on what game(s) you're actually going to play.

What's the a list coupon skiipi? The 10% off from joining the email list?

skiiipi 12-24-2015 03:09 AM

Yup, join the email list and get the 10% transaction coupon that pretty much stacks with everything

6o4__boi 12-24-2015 09:13 AM

will that stack with TA coupons?
lol i still have a bundle left over that i should probably use before Feb

doesn't seem like theres good deals out there
i'm hoping to buy some more compression shirts/shorts but it looks like BF had the better deals

Ha! I worked car audio install at A&B, Boxing Day and SuperSale were gong shows for us, because they wouldn't pre-book anything for those days, they'd just sell people on getting installs done the same day. Lotta deck+2 slam jobs, lotta overtime :)

A list and TA don't usually stack
And yes overall BF is better than boxing day.

However there is usually a lot of unadvertised deals at stores.
Boxing day is a time to clear out unsold merchandise
And since the unsold merchandise varies from store to store it's hard to advertise.

ZN6 12-24-2015 11:02 AM

I remember when I was a kid, I wanted to buy a CD player that I lined up for at the A&B sound on SW Marine drive at 4:30am. Tried to pay with my interac but had insufficient funds. My mom moved my money and I was pissed.

Fuck boxing day. Never again.

tonyzoomzoom 12-24-2015 11:14 AM

Sam the Record Man, Kelly's, and A&B Sounds knew how to have boxing day sales

Yup, except none of those companies from back east that thought they could muscle their way west of the Rockies couldn't compete with A&B Sound. A&B Sound outlasted them all.

Sam the Record Man prices didn't come close to that of A&B Sound regular or sale prices........... The hoopla with Sam the Record Man lasted all of three weeks.

Something like the time Aikenheads came out here. An employee stationed in each aisle......... yeah, right. Lasted one month and then nobody was around 'cause the place died.

tonyzoomzoom........ you are no spring chicken if you remember those places, hee hee. BTW, wasn't Kelly's at one time called Kelly Dejong Records? Do you remember LG73?

Mr.Money 12-24-2015 01:28 PM

you think Napster killed the record stores back then?

6o4__boi 12-24-2015 01:37 PM

nope not at all since downloading was so new and a lot of people were not taking advantage of it that are now.

I spent hours and hours and hours everyday on Napster back in the day

Boxing Day Online Deals,Mens - Sporting Life Online Store

okay deals i guess?...100/200 off jackets...

GS8 12-24-2015 02:28 PM

Yup, Boxing day still has relevancy as the year is ending and all unsold merch needs to go.

Looks like that outdoor mall in Richmond will be having up to 70% off merch (saw on CityTV BT)

For me, though, I only go to Tom Lee and Long & McQuade on Boxing Day. Good place to get good deals and 0% financing for 6 months if you buy a pricey item.

Boxing Day will never be like it was before but it really doesn't need to be. Online shopping killed all that.

punkwax 12-24-2015 02:33 PM

Sheeyit LG73.. I remember staying up "late" to listen to the top 10 at 10 I think it was :lol

Pop in a blank tape and record that so I could skateboard with it in my walkman.

Eatman 12-24-2015 03:20 PM

CKLG AM 1070 began in 1955 as a North Vancouver radio station operated by Lions Gate Broadcasting Ltd. In the final 30 years of CKLG AM 730 (ending on January 31, 2001) the station most often identified on-air as "LG73."

LG73 Vancouver Tribute

Dat Logo, man, those were the days. I have weekly top 40 lists from back in the 60's and 70's. Folded brochure type printouts with B&W pics of stuff happening around town. Every week I went to Kelly's to get the new list for the week. I have volumes of the stuff. Never missed a one. Should donate it. Vancouver history, man.

Anyone been to the Arc'teryx Boxing week sale at their factory store in North Van? Is it a shit show?

StylinRed 12-24-2015 09:25 PM

In terms of electronics/computer parts

there doesn't seem to be any deals compared to the Black Friday -> Christmas sales that were on

one store might have a nice sale price, but before boxing day you could find it on sale elsewhere

anyhow

if anyone spots a nice deal on a wifi-ac router or a wireless mechanical keyboard let me know :D

skyxx 12-24-2015 09:26 PM

It's a shit show. Long ass lineup. No thanks.
