Boxing Day 2015

It seems like Boxing Day is no longer what it used to be. Nevertheless, if deals come up, please post/share here.

Mr.Money 12-22-2015 11:26 PM

no.

Armind 12-22-2015 11:28 PM

Never.

Mr.HappySilp 12-23-2015 07:33 AM

Don't have anything to do so won't be actively hunting for deals.
However steam sales is on already!

Vansterdam 12-23-2015 07:34 AM

boxing day is on a Saturday this year :fuckthatshit: :fuckthatshit: :fuckthatshit:

6o4__boi 12-23-2015 07:58 AM

i'm still broke from black friday...
:fuckthatshit:

...last year
:okay:

underscore 12-23-2015 08:03 AM

I'm looking for a portable printer and a few other little things, but nothing big this year.

MG1 12-23-2015 10:35 AM

Black Friday has taken over. Boxing Day as far as shopping doesn't exist in the US, amiright?

We have embraced Black Friday since many businesses up here have started to participate.

Don't think it's the American influence that's causing this trend. More like retailers want to grab everyone's holiday money before they all go broke. :lol

Even going through the Boxing Day prep at work, it seems like there's shit all for deals. Hell, some of the stuff that are on sale are currently cheaper right now than they will be come the 26th. :lol

Protip: If you want Apple products, buy them now. Even though they're on sale for Boxing Day, most products are actually cheaper right now than they will be at the end of this week.

melloman 12-23-2015 11:08 AM

I'll be at Bestbuy early hoping the shit I want is on sale.

Boxing Day is going downhill because of the greedy businesses.. It started with Boxing WEEK and now fucking greedy car dealers have "Boxing MONTH" :fulloffuck:

Whenever I mention Boxing Day, people laugh and say "Remember the A&B Sound days? Those were great deals on the 26th."

Mr.Money 12-23-2015 11:22 AM

i remember young kids didn't even own a car but lined up for cheap car audio at A&B sound

Traum 12-23-2015 11:28 AM

The few Big Box Boxing Day flyers that I have seen have:

1) nothing of interest
2) nothing particularly cheap

The only eye catching deal I have seen so far is actually our forum sponsor -- Sounds Good's -- pre-boxing day sale. Those $8 Pioneer 6x9 speakers are super attractive, but my car doesn't take 6x9 speakers... :banghead:

Hondaracer 12-23-2015 12:21 PM

Hoping that Sony HTST5 is on sale since I got fucked on the Black Friday deal :/

Groot 12-23-2015 01:04 PM

$369 the cheapest for ps4?

Tapioca 12-23-2015 01:22 PM

Of course Boxing Day sucks because it seems like everyone is after gadgets and electronics. Margins on electronics are pretty thin these days and for the latest stuff, like drones or 3D printers, there's Aliexpress and other Chinese e-commerce sites.

Boxing week is still a decent time to buy clothes as retailers will need to clear the winter inventory to make way for spring/summer merchandise. You can definitely score deals on things like suits and shoes if you're patient and savvy.

Pretty much. Already have a couple things picked out at work and saved for Boxing Day, though. The advantage of seeing clearance prices before anyone else. Got a powerful Asus laptop and a new LG 21:9 monitor waiting for me.

:fullofwin:

Yeah, been keeping an eye out locally for a new suit. There are a couple places here that will be dropping prices rather dramatically that I'll try to take advantage of.

Think Z Zegna has some good sales?

a00755836 12-23-2015 04:24 PM

everytime i go shopping on a boxing day, i end up buying crap i dont necessarily need

Amuse 12-23-2015 08:55 PM

I bought Christmas presents to give to people from Black Friday sales :D
I like how Canada is adopting BF sales.
I also like how Amazon.ca is slowly getting more good stuff (things you normally see on Amazon.com) to buy.

Yup. I can't count how many $5 bluray movies I've purchased on Boxing Day that are still sitting in their plastic wrap. :lol And it's not like they're shitty movies, either. :okay:

meowjinboo 12-23-2015 10:17 PM

I'm buyin a gundam kit from imperial hobbies.

MG1 12-23-2015 10:22 PM

25% off, FTW!

Paints and photoetch parts.

skiiipi 12-23-2015 11:02 PM

I hope Canada just drops boxing day soon.
Black Friday is already beating boxing day sales volume wise for a lot of retailers.
Would be nice for retail workers to just "get a break" from Dec 25th and onwards.
Black Friday has already made the month of November super hectic.
