In general if you eat at TDEE, you won't lose or gain weight. Eat at a surplus to gain, eat at a deficit to lose.

Yeah if coffee upsets your stomach a lot, don't use it!

I've been doing intermittent fasting a keto with 5 grams of cars or less per day. I'm 5 foot 7 inches and I started at 280lbs, now im down to 203lbs. I used to do a cheat day every week to start off and get my body used to the diet. Now i do 3 weeks on and 1 weekend off (saturday and sunday). I consider it a way of life. Been doing it for a year now. Im 30 years old and I've always struggled with my weight, I've tried a lot of diets and this one by far is the best for me, over thebcourse of the year i also tried different recipes and ingredients to see how far i can go without falling out of keto. It's good to experiment because you may find out your still able to eat some of your favorite foods.

It definitely feels great when i go into a store and they actually have my size and not have to look for a double or tripple xl shirt anymore. My goal is 170lbs and even after i make it im still staying on keto but probably do 2 weeks on and 1 weekend off

5g is impressive, I'm usually close to 20g . What are you doing for veggies?

Skinny I thought Atkins doesn't limit the amount of protein in your diet like Keto does.

Yeah 5g is my limit. I've tried various foods and veggies and tried 10 grams and 20 grams of carbs but it kicks me out of keto. For veggies i have lettuce and spinach. Very little carbs in them. I have a bowl of apinach or lettuce with every meal and use full fat caesar dressing and a little of the cracker barrel shredded cheese on top. I take multi vitamin 3 times a day and fish oil 3 times a day. Other than that i keept it 60% fat and 40% protein. My meal time is 12pm to 8pm daily

I use them from time to time. I heard after a while the pee ones don't show ketones if you have been producing them for an extended period of time, so testing blood is more effective.

When you compare the specific 'rules' of the diet, then yes Atkins is technically "unlimited protein". But if your protein is coming from meat, you will be getting a lot of fat with it too, so that would automatically limit your protein, effectively putting you on a keto diet.

I was kind of just being a sarcastic hipster about it, but they are essentially the same ideas

Did keto for 4 months and lost 20 lbs. Recently my doctor told me to stop due to rising ldl and sugar levels. He put me on a vegetarian low fat diet and prescribed statins. In the past I've tried cardio, weight lifting, ect, nothing worked for my weight loss except for keto. Btw I'm 30 years old.

Add sodium, I hit a plateau and adding more sodium helped. YMMV though. I see a naturopath.

did intermittent fasting or 3 months. lost 3% body fat. from 13-10%
stopped after cause i'm a small dude to begin with, but it works.

its also not gradual, its like after 3 months all of a sudden boom 10%.

lol the whole fasting thing...

wasnt it just called the "dont' eat all the time" diet back then LOL. aka. just stop eating.

people that are long sleepers or have irregular days (longer than 24 hours, and sleep a lot) are usually very skinny too. due to the fact they are naturally already on this "diet".

some people easily sleep 9-10+ hours a day. u just dont eat before u sleep and after u wake up and thats an easy 13-15 hours already.

Lol you guys still need to calorie count. Weigh your food to get an idea the amount your eating in calories. Intermittent fasting is good because it gives your body a chance to munch your own body fat, but if your eating more than your body can burn in a day your not going to lose weight. I did both ketogenic and intermittent fasting and lost 50lbs. As you get lighter you have to eat even less because your lighter body requires less energy to function. Either that or go balls to the walls and intermittent fast for 20 hours a day and eat 4 hours a day it's hard to over eat that way if your eating healthy food.

Jist a quick update, im still doing keto and imf and am a total of 94 pounds down. For the past 4 weeks I've beem using perform pre workout from perfect ketones. Really helps me get that extra push in the gym and have really notice a difference in muscle definition compared to before using perform pre workout.
