Cake by the Ocean........ wishful thinking, but just about every business out there is gonna have free Canada Day Cake.

I'm heading out to my favourite Casino, 'cause I'll bet they'll have good cake. Have my cake and gonna eat it, too. Damn, eating cake takes on a whole new meaning these days. :ifyouknow:

Inaii 06-27-2016 08:51 PM

If anyone likes them, The Trews are holding a free concert at Swangard on Canada Day. Heard about it on CFOX earlier today.

can you take tosd and I?

MG1 06-30-2016 10:55 PM

I'll take Inaii........ you guys........... um. Sure. Why not?

BTW, it's, "Can you take Tos'd and me?" Grammar rule #18.

To see if it is "me" or "I", take the other part out and see if it works.

For example: Can you take me? Therefore, it would be "Can you take Tos'd and me?"

Can you take I? Nope.

One day, I will spend the time to start a thread on proper grammar rules and whatnot.

RS members, please post Canada Day fireworks events for those who are into that stuff.

I only know of the one in Abbotsford that is located at the Exhibition Park on Trethewey and Maclure.

Swangard is having a fireworks display at dusk, along with the concert.

Also Canada Place is having a display this year too according to the Fox (info here). Surrey's info can be found here

Retrac 06-30-2016 11:05 PM

I was down by Stevenson and they had signs up saying firework at 10:15. Had some really cool boats there as well.

Inaii 06-30-2016 11:07 PM

Ooooh I forgot the tall ships were in, thanks for reminding me!

MG1 06-30-2016 11:12 PM

Speaking of Steveston, are they ever going to have a tall ships festival again?

EDIT: Wow, went to bathroom, came back and posted........... only to have my favourite gal answer the question before it was asked.

Usually some fireworks down at the pier in White Rock.. I'll be there at some point today I'm sure. Big family friendly events down there every Canada Day.

Yup, that's what staying in Asia would do. Like when I stayed in SoCal for a while, I started to sound so Amurican. Accent, lingo, you name it.

Shit, forgot to wish Canada a happy 149th! Happy birthday, home, sweet home. May you continue to endure the Gululu's of the world.

Next year is going to be big at 150.

I very well intend to live to see the bicentenary. Will break record for oldest person alive, but at least I can say I was around for Canada's first 100th birthday.

Canadian Railway Hall of Fame - The Confederation Train

BTW, I inherited a genuine Canada Centennial flag that was used in the 1967 PNE parade (logo in front of Confederation Train in link). I was in a marching band and as drum major at the time, I was given things that were archived by the organizing committee. I brought it out once to display it at an event. It almost got stolen. Stopped the theft by throwing a good sized stapler at the thief's head. Man, got him real good, lol. He limped off after falling from a ladder. I would imagine a genuine flag would be damn hard to find. Maybe.............
