Parking in a heated garage when your car is caked in salt is worse than parking outside. | This. My dad's 2003 CR-V has always been parked outside and daily driven, even in snow/salt. He washes the car at the Royal Oak wash place every 2 weeks when they salt the roads, the high-pressure rinse works really well on the underbody. To this day the bottom of his car looks nearly new.
OP: On a newer car you don't have to worry, just wash the car more often than normal. Make sure to be extra thorough with the fender wells and undercarriage.

And stock suspension. Or just normal lowering springs. Aren't those Stance coils pretty cheap anyways?

I guess I just have to keep taking it to touchless car wash to prevent the rust and corrosion? Do you have any suspension mods or exhaust mods on your frs? How is that holding up in the salt?

I love the new(ish) Mobil 1 wash in Richmond on Bridgeport and No.5, always does a great job. It's not a Laser Wash, forgot the name of it, but it's the equivalent. Great touchless wash.

How much are they charging for touchless wash ?? | They have a touchless wash which is, in my opinion equal or better than the Laserwash 360. It's made by Saber, one of those fancy new LED multi-arm systems. I do believe the water pressure is much higher than the Laserwash systems most other touchless wash places have.
Has a super high pressure wheel/lower body spray on both sides together with a super high pressure underbody spray when first driving in, and I think the timer is set for 40 seconds iirc so you can spray every bit of your underbody very well.
Iirc it's $13/15/17? Pretty sure all tiers have the underbody spray but the mid-tier and up has the wheel and lower body spray added. $17 gets you triple down, RainX and double rinse or double high pressure soak and extended drying I think.
It's still incredibly new and clean cause not many people know they have a car wash there, they don't exactly advertise it

It depends how long you leave the car out for. Just because it is freezing doesn't mean corrosion is not happening. In fact you are packing a lot more moisture in this climate with all the snow and gunk.
Assuming most heated garages would have a much lower ambient humidity, basically the snow will fall off and your drive off, things dries and stopping the electrolytic reaction. My thermostat tells me my garage is about 40% vs 80%+ outside.
You leave it outside, the electrolytic reactions will still go on and you have temperature variations to deal with.
For overnight ie say 8+ hours.. keep it indoors.
A simple comparison, take any metal tools eg screwdriver etc. one leave outside, one you take in and out day in and day out.. you will see a difference. Quote:

Parking in a heated garage when your car is caked in salt is worse than parking outside. | |
