Door to desk is almost always exactly 30min on transit (assuming no delays)
I'd say 40-45min would be my threshold for commuting before i'd consider moving closer.

10 minutes each way, wife is now the same.
My wife just switched jobs because of commute she was doing 90 to 105 minutes each way. Included driving to Bus loop, catching bus to skytrain on other side of bridge, skytrain to other skytrain and then a 5 minute walk from train station to office reversed on way home. After doing that for just over a year she was at her breaking point and said fuck it, left a job where it was Mon-Fri, choice of start and finish time as long as she did her 7.5 hours, almost 10 weeks of holidays and unlimited sick days for a new job that's shift work with no real set schedule, barely any holidays and she couldn't be happier.

About 45 minutes in the morning and about 55 minutes in the afternoon.
Approximately 115 km round trip means I'm racking up around 35,000 km/year

I take the elevator down to the lobby of my building, then walk a few blocks outside (about 5 minutes)... then take the elevator up to my office. Sometimes I stop at the Starbucks on the way.
Life is good, haha

Mornings about 45 mins, afternoon about 35 mins. This is commuting from Surrey (Guildford) to New West (Queensborough Landing) via highway 17 and taking alex fraser. My threshold I would say is 1 hour. My old job was literally a 2.5min drive or 15 min walk. I did that for 10 years, boy I was spoiled |

Life is good, haha | Damn............ not fair but my commute is zero time, lol. Retired and enjoying every single minute of it.
Casino hopping whenever I want.
Oh, once in a while, I do volunteer work, so that makes me use a bit of my lifetime experiences of traffic avoidance techniques.

The minute I step foot out the door, walk a few minutes to the bus stop, wait for the bus, transfer onto the skytrain, walk more, 52-55 minutes to work.
OMW to home, if I take the one bus straight home, 55min - 1hr.
All within East Vancouver.

Around 20-25min driving to work with heavy traffic (and making unnecessary turns because of stupid bike lanes) into downtown core
7-8min breezing home with practically empty roads at 2am
I both respect and cringe at the people that don't mind commuting close to an hour back and forth.
Personally I'm the type that would rather live in a small condo that's only 10min from work than in a big house further out and have to rip it down the highway for 50min.

20-25 minutes on transit. Car would take exactly the same or more both days, other than Sundays, car takes about 15 mins or less @6am. It's the only day I'll drive, if I schedule myself to work. Keeping commuting out of the car makes driving a lot more of a treat.

20 minutes each way, by bike, never any traffic
10 minutes to work by car, 15 minutes home as there's always traffic
30+ minutes by skytrain, only use this if it's last resort.

My commute is 4-5 minutes depending on if the one intersection I have to deal with has a green light or red.
On my mountain bike it's around 7 minutes. |

Depends where the next site is...
Drove to Spirit River, Alberta (13 hours) Monday, 12 hours of work, drove home Wednesday. Drive back to Edmonton, where our home base is, this Sunday. Have put on 25k kms this year since March on my commuter, and another 30k on my work truck that sits in Edmonton. Have to drive to Sherbrooke, Quebec in August
That being said I'll never leave BC. Lol

I live by Coq Center and commute to BCIT area.
By car ~45mins
By motorcycle under 30mins
I dont take the bus/train since its not worth my time.. I'd rather be able to commute myself.

By car:
PNE to Olympic Village is my route
To work: No more than 15mins regardless of time of day
To home: No more than 20mins regardless of time of day
Threshold, dunno to be honest I'm much less about the duration it takes vs the actual drive itself. I'm the type that likes to keep moving, doesn't have to be fast but if route A will take my 30 mins but the "drive" is better I'll take that over route B even if that route only takes me say 22mins but the "drive" is shittier.
