It was 7 mins each way but because of the amount of people moving into Surrey over the last five years its now 15mins.

Wife if she gets all green lights I would say 2mins each way..lol

With my current hours: 30 to 40 minutes each way.

When I used to start/end early: 20 minutes each way.

My record? 12 minutes. All green lights, 5 am, speeding.

2 mins to the kid's school, then another 8 mins to work.
I used to take 45 minutes from Langley to Maple Ridge, and an hour to get home. Langley to BCIT was also about 45 mins to get there, and an hour home.

fuck commuting.

I took a major financial hit to cut out my commute and have no regrets.

i'm in richmond, work in olympic village.
10 min drive to sky train
sky train for 30 mins
10 min walk to office
around 50min total

my tolerance has changed over time. When i was younger, i would do any commute, because it was more about the job and opportunities. now that i'm a little older (and have a kid), my tolerance is less.. i think an hour is the max for me, and even then, it's only because my work is also flexible, so if i need to leave early or come in late, its not a big deal

Agreed. I'll take the hit to be 10 minutes from home.

Haha, I thought you were still driving to Port Moody.

Our old warehouse is now a section of track for the evergreen line.
Up and over Gatensbury every day was tough on the clutch but built a strong left leg. ACT ftw!

my threshold used to be an hour .. leave gaglardi area down to cambie station on marine (going thru 10th ave and down to marine) but now i wonder..current job is 20mins to and from work. down cariboo to government to lougheed to brentwood (20mins) and on the way home i take willingdon onto the hwy and get off at gaglardi (20mins)

i use to think it was quicker going back the reverse way of my commute to work (everyone would take lougheed since they would hate the backup on the hwy i guess so it made my commute home 30-35mins) , but honestly hwy is about 5-10mins quicker even with the bottleneck at willingdon and at kensington.

By car, about 10 mins to work. 15-20 mins if i don't leave before 7:20AM.
Stupidass parking situation, usually have to park about a km away from the workplace.

Going home is around 30 mins because of the rush hour plus the stupid bottle necks at Cassiar Tunnel, Hastings on-ramp, McGill on-ramp, Seymour Pkwy on-ramp.

GG if there's an accident on either side of the highway LOL

From my house to work, by car, is 15-18 minutes (depending on weather and congestion)

Fastest time I've gotten home was 13 minutes.

My old workplace took 20 minutes both ways and varied a lot by traffic. It took 45 min to an hour in the winter time.

My commute to my new job is so much more relaxing and predictable. ^_^

commuting more than 10% of your work hours should be illegal. what a waste of fucking time and energy. so inefficient.

Quote for truth...

I now work mainly at home... although that's probably exactly true as I tend to fly a lot.. but I used to commute 30min each way and that's about as far as I'm willing to go.

Wife used to travel for the same amount of time and she already hated it. Now she doesn't care as she gets paid to do it.

Travel by car:
45min to work
1hr to 1hr15min to get home.

I also pay bridge toll so it's costing me over $300 a month just to go to work once gas is factored in. FML

when you hit all the green lights on your commute, doesn't it feel like you won the lottery?

It's like "I've got a bonus 10 minutes of my life" *opens smartphone, wastes the 10 aimlessly*

Oh it's brutal...like 25sec to climb over the boxes I need to put away in my office door. And the coffee machine, so far away across the hall. lol

Self employment is tough in a lot of ways, but the commute to my desk is not one of them!

13-15 mins (depending on traffic) to downtown Victoria.

Before moving closer to downtown my commute was about 45min - 1hr each way. I am so much happier now.
