So walking to the Elementary school to play with my kid again yesterday and can confirm the first 3 people I saw selling parking were all $10's so the rate does in fact exist. That's pretty damn good if you ask me.

MSREE 09-01-2017 08:36 AM

Trying to get my bf to take me today as Im interested in the big pizza hot dog Hondaracer posted. Ive already tried to incept it into his mind by chanting it into his sleeping face lol.
I havent been in years. Do you guys think its worth it?
Most previous posts seem moreso "meh." PNE may be veto'd for gym :okay:

winson604 09-01-2017 10:16 AM

^^
Again it's hard to define worth for PNE. To each their own, nostalgia, eating some foods that only exist at fairs, playing fair games, rides, just a day to shoot the shit. You seem like you want to so just do it!

Hondaracer 09-01-2017 10:32 AM

it's only $15 or less! stop asking whether it's worth it or not and go find out yourself ya fuckin cheapskates!

Its worth it for the cost of a movie. Gives you something to do outdoors in this beautiful weather.

People complain about how Vancouver is a no fun city, but they don't take advantage when there are seasonal things like this.

Hondaracer 09-01-2017 11:09 AM

Although beers are $8 the price of entry and a couple beers is enough to kill an evening

Also the dueling pianos is excellent and it's completely free. I'd pay entry just to watch them for the night

and yet those same people can spend like $6 daily on a Venti no sugar, no whip, no dairy, green tea frappucinno, extra hot and cold at the same time and their name is spelled with a K instead of a C.

I think vancouver just has too much selection to do but people just don't fuckin' wanna do it.

MSREE 09-01-2017 11:38 AM

Inception was a success! Ill be going today :fullofwin:
Ill post my food pics later muahah!

We humans are funny like that. I won't bat an eye and spend $1000 on a jacket or $300 on jeans but sometimes I drag my feet over spending like $10 on some household item or something.

the fried foods were horrible. like other people said, its been left out for awhile.
had the double bacon mac and cheese hot dog and was disappointed

Does anyone know if they sell off their stuffies on the last day of the fair?

Hondaracer 09-03-2017 10:23 AM

doubt it as Playland continues to operate after the PNE closes.

Went again last night, like the 5th time so far, Dueling pianos great once again, Gypsy kings pretty good

Had a slice of pizza from the place at the top near the prize home, fucking $6 slices of pizza but was decent, good dough but toppings lacking.

Later in the night when i was half cut had some of the Amsterdamn fries by the upper concert stage, although its just fries with mayo the fries were hella fresh and garlic mayo was good. Great drinking food and honestly probably some of the better food at the fair lol

Going back tonight for some heavy drinking as finally have a day off tom!

If you're looking for a discount, then no. But if you are looking to buy, they should sell, you just have to ask how much

I'm the opposite. I'll spend like $200 on dinner then hmm and huh about a $10 shirt.

My problem is I'll also spend the $200 for dinner too :okay:

Well to be honest it ain't so bad, generally I'm totally cool with buying cheap ass $9.99 Zara or H&M plain tshirts. There's a time and a place where I'll drop the big bucks on a quality winter jacket or something without hesitation but I ain't ballin enough to go crazy on everything nor do I want to because spending like $200 on a tshirt for example sounds dumb.

Back on topic, traffic for PNE has really picked up this last week after yet another slow start.

tegra7 09-04-2017 03:09 PM

Admission is $5 if you're a vancity bank member.

lilaznviper 09-04-2017 03:36 PM

can just borrow someones vancity card as well since they don't check id

MG1 09-04-2017 10:08 PM

RIP, 2017 PNE. Till next year...............

N.V.M. 09-05-2017 04:41 AM

did not attend due to particular malady.

MG1 09-05-2017 06:39 AM

As long as we don't have to say RIP to you anytime soon, it's all good. I think I've been to the PNE at least once, every year.

lilaznviper 09-05-2017 09:39 AM

it didn't rain the whole time PNE was open this year
