2017 PNE Thread

No matter how boring it is, I make it a point to go at least once a year.

Perogies from Hunky Bills, something from Jimmies, and a Buckeye Root Beer. Hunting for free stuff.

Oh, and visit the jesus tent............

^ taken from last year's thread, Gulolol.

I won't be in Vancouver during the opening, but plan to take in the two freebie days.

PNE aint boring!

The dueling pianos at the beer garden is amazing, hopefully its the same couple as the last few years, they are outstanding.

Picked up our free neighborhood tickets last week, also, Vancity members can get in for $5 everyday this year, i cant remember if you just show your membership card or you need to do somthing else

MG1 08-16-2017 07:12 AM

For someone who's been going for nearly 60 years, it got boring as soon as they got rid of all the buildings and displays. Having said that, the new stuff is a pretty good and have revitalized the "Fair". "Change is good, Donkey."

I was responding to all kinds of "It's boring," comments from previous years.

Anyway, complaining is a Vancouver pastime.......... gulolol. It ain't right, if you're a Vancouverite!

did you know you can buy perogies from Hunky Bills house year long? He also sells pickled garlic which is the best thing ever.

Yup, dude is like timeless. He looks almost as young as he did when I first visited his stand.

There's something about eating his stuff outdoors at the PNE that is magical.

That's not really old, you know............

My mom........ now she's really old at 94.

People who've met me at RS mini-meats say I don't look a day over 45, gulolol. Us Asians look so young. Dick Clark, now that guy kept looking young for a white guy. He passed away in 2012. RIP.........just an FYI.

dapperfied 08-16-2017 04:15 PM

TOS'd 08-16-2017 04:30 PM

danned 08-16-2017 09:36 PM

MG1 08-16-2017 09:48 PM

What is this thread about, again?

Oh, right............... Hunky Bills and Jimmie's Lunch.

Mini Doughnuts, Showmart, etc. Dal Richards is no longer, RIP. The smell, the sounds.......

Mini Doughnuts used to be run by a company that sold them little rings of goodness as Tom Thumb Doughnuts among other names.

Vansterdam 08-17-2017 12:16 AM

superdogs, pigraces/farm animals, mini donuts and walking around pretty much at least once a year lol

and whatever new exhibit they have

someone should try that cricket burger/taco and report back

MG1 08-17-2017 02:53 AM

Yeah, I heard that and I jump like a little girl whenever I see bugs. Not going to even think of eating one. I don't care how good it tastes or how much protein it has and shit. I'd rather be forced to stare at Integra Girl for a millennia than to eat a freaking bug........... damn, I'll have to think about what I just said. Eeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww to both. Yeah, gonna jump off the Tallahatchie Bridge.

N.V.M. 08-17-2017 04:34 AM

i've been going since the late 60's. how would've you liked to win this dream home?

Ch28 08-17-2017 01:10 PM

They have the Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit this year, so all you hockey fans should enjoy it. I had a great time visiting the one in Toronto.

Gerbs 08-17-2017 04:07 PM

Anyone going to the craft beer exhibit? Apparently free samples?
