27 dead Texas church shooting

You would think with all the guns Texas has this would not happen.

Multiple people killed in shooting at Texas church - CNN

Maybe we should just have one US mass shooting thread?

Surprised he hadn't killed more people if it was during a church service.

Another person trying to outdo the last?

A mass shooting in the states is as common as a white bmw/merc car accidents in Richmond

threezero 11-05-2017 01:23 PM

We had a discussion about this in the other thread less than 2 months ago. This is not suppose to happen to open carry pro gun Texas.

Is church a no gun zone in Texas?

twitchyzero 11-05-2017 01:49 PM

At first, I was a little concerned for our friend, el bastardo, but then saw the word "church" in the title............... gulolol.

El Bastardo has survived floods, storms, lightning, shootings, wildfires, even the wrath of jesus. He is the Chuck Norris of RS. Amen!

GLOW 11-05-2017 05:03 PM

he also survived a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy with connections. :bchow:

Local TV station KENS 5 has spoken to witness Kevin Jordan who lives less than 50 yards from the church.

He was outside changing his car’s oil when the gunman started the attack.

Jordan said his neighbor, who he described as a man who would do anything for anyone, came out with a gun then shot the suspect while taking cover behind a car.

“If it wasn’t for him, the guy wouldn’t have stopped,” Jordan said.

Not the first time a shooting has occurred at a church.

Charleston 2015
Wisconsin Sikh Temple 2012
Burnette Chapel 2017
Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church 2008

Not to mention that one that happened in Quebec City at a mosque earlier this year.

SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, TX—In the hours following a violent rampage in Texas in which a lone attacker killed 27 individuals and seriously injured several others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Sunday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Kansas resident Britt Mulvanos, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this individual from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what they really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past eight years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”
