^even if you take tax out of the price you've showed its still a pretty big leap in price vs us MSRP. yikes!

This is going to be a hard choice.

The A-Spec is around $53k and so is the CX9 GT. Two different segments but having more room in the CX9 helps.

So we had a chance to test drive the new RDX. It definitely drives nice and has plenty of tq and passing power. The touch pad was easy to use and I got the hang of it quickly. Seats were very comfortable (moving to Moose Jaw this summer so will do tones of highway driving). The massive pano roof was cool too and gives lots of light in. Rear cargo room is slightly more than our current CX5. When I first drove up they had a white and red ASpec, my first impression was underwhelming. I expected more from a $60k car and it looks like it will blend in with the rest of traffic. This could be good or bad depending on personal preference.

Then we went to see a CX9 GT. There was a black and machine grey and both looked fantastic. During the drive I was very surprised how quick it is for a large SUV. Power and tq is plenty and acceleration from 80-xxx ;) is more than adequate. Interior fit and finish is on par with the RDX and obviously far more cargo room, also I think it looks better overall. We liked it more than the RDX.

Then comes the price. Acura’s rates are horrid right now and a loadedish Aspec was about $65k all in, despite the $52k sticker. The CX9 was $49k and with mazda loyalty we were looking at .25% lease for 36 months. We haven’t decided yet but looks like the CX9 is an overall better package, financially and the vehicle itself. The RDX is nice but I think it’s a bit of a disappointment considering all the hype. We waited 10min in an empty showroom for a salesperson to emerge from his office at Acura and were seen right away at Mazda. The sale people at Acura looked snobby and no one said hi or asked if we needed any help while waiting in the middle of the floor.

The previous gen RDX was a good bargain (43k-47k) for a mid-sized luxury SUV, but the new one is just too much.

Only the 53k Elite or 58k Platinum Elite has full leather the others are just leatherette and suede.

Acura604 06-11-2018 07:31 AM

a dealer in California decided to mark up the MSRP by $5,000 attributing it to "MARKET VALUE ADJUSTMENT" lol.. greeeeeeedy!

Anyone here bought one?
Recommendations for a dealership in Vancouver

I got mine from lougheed Acura. I had mixed feelings about it. If you go in on a busy day without an appointment, you may end up waiting for a long time to have someone helping you. That's what happened my first time visiting. Second time I booked an appointment for a test drive and the salesperson has the car ready for me before I arrived. So if you want good service, I'd suggest booking an appointment.

If anyone's interested, I have one on demo right now so ask away with any hard pressing questions. And Aznboi128 just had one last week so his review should be coming out in a few weeks. We'll also be comparing it to the old gen RDX and against the QX50

I didn't realize there was a car hiding behind the MASSIVE Acura logo.

spacemanrick 10-02-2018 07:28 PM

I just bought a 2019 Lunar Silver RDX with Tech Package for my sister and got $1,770 off MSRP with no other extra documentation fees or any other dealer fees. There was also an additional $1,000 after tax Acura incentive so the final cash on the road price was $51,500. Overall the 2019 model seems to be a pretty big improvement over our own 2017 Acura RDX especially with the SH-AWD.

iforyou 10-02-2018 08:44 PM

Which dealership was that? I guess since it's near the end if the year and the initial hype has died down a bit, they are more willing to talk price.

spacemanrick 10-03-2018 08:33 AM

I actually bought the 2019 RDX just after it came out in August from Lougheed Acura. Since we bought our first Acura MDX in 2009 I have arranged 6 sales for friends and family through the same sales person and always get a pretty good discount from him.

blee123 10-03-2018 10:05 PM

If anyone needs a hook up on the RDX, inbox me and I will pass you over to my contact at Acura, great feedback from everyone I've refered to him so far.

Where are you finding the .99% financing - it's not on their website.

FWIW, I was able to negotiate down to $55,500 for a 2020 A-Spec in cash all-in. That's about 2.75% above invoice IIRC.

acura loyalty rate knocks off 2 percentage points to whichever rate you get.

so assume i went 36 months at 2.99...2 points off brings it to .99.
