Sounds scary... what's sad is that people in the first world have no shelters to go to and if an earth quake was to hit and cracked ones apartment or house, after a day or so, everyone would just go back inside and risk their faith to die... even knowing that these things could hit multiple times and with more might.
Myself I own a roomy Previa van to live in.
My Google page initially popped up like this.

We, in the Lower Mainland, will not be affected too much. Thank god for Vancouver Island. I imagine there will be a rise in water levels for a bit, but that's about it.............

We'll find out at around 7:50 in the morning how that earthquake is going to affect our neck of the woods.

I think it's fake news.

Crazy. Never woken up to an alert like that on my phone before.

If it were to ever affect us I could luckily make it to Burnaby mountain within 10 - 15 minutes. Pack up the dogs and hightail it there.

My phone didn't alert me shit. Is it an Android thing?

IMO, Vancouver will drown from the rain before any tsunami gets to us

Came up from a google message similar to how a breaking news story headline would pop up. Don't know if it's just android or not. I'd imagine that all phone providers would send out an automated message to all numbers if it was a for sure thing.

I bet there's a few people in Tofino who regret having a good laugh at the false alarm missile strike in Japan lol

I slept right through it.

My house is 5km inland and 30m above sea level so I wouldn't have been too worried anyways.

Damn, Tofino got hit big time, this morning..................

An unbelievable 3mm. That's right, 3 millimetres.

That's even smaller than some RS Members.................. fake news, indeed.

god bless.

Also, no tsunami, because of the type of earthquake - the strike/slip earthquake. Sounds like a WWE move.

London Drugs Emergency Kit - EKIT1364 | London Drugs

Thinking of picking up a few, seems like the world is on the brink of destruction.
I made my own. You can find a lot of great stuff at Dollarama to be honest, if you have an extra duffel bag it works. I have everything from band aids, gauze to duct tape and little shampoos/soaps.

It helps to have an extra bag filled with spare clothes too, underwear and socks essentials, etc.

Canadian Tire has earthquake kits I think with nonperishable food? My mom was telling me to invest in a couple a year ago...they were $50/ea.

My hubby laughs at me but i dont care, it's better to be prepared.

Heres a tried and true method to pack proper food for survival.. dried meat and berries.

Well, even non-perishable foods still go bad but yeah, I think I might go get a dufflebag and stuff it with emergency stuff.

Another question is, where the hell do you get the packaged water? I can't really just find them off the store, can I?

Time to buy a vacuum sealer and waterproof all the consumables. Time to also collect bottle caps now and save for the future, Fallout style.
