proposition 65

so I bought a fireplace and it arrived at my doorstep. looked around the box and found a red sticker saying "prop 65. I have never seen this before, is this something to be concern about? should i return it?

according to the state of california litterally everything contains chemicals known to cause cancer.

It doesnt mean its going to off-gas carcinogenic gases, it just used some chemicals/materials in the processing and creation of the product.

Pretty sure the TV i just sold had a sticker from cali similar..

lol don't worry about it even mcdonalds and disneyland have those warnings everywhere.

They have that sign at Disneyland for pregnant women lol. Underneath it said trace amounts of lead in the paint??

Condoms sold in California probably have that warning on them. I honestly don't think there is anything sold in the US without that warning on it. It has become a big joke.

Lol thanks guys! It struck me kinda odd why companies are allowed to sell something knowing that it WILL cause cancer. Although I know pretty much everything we use or do can cause cancer but the warning label sticks out so much that it got my attention.
