I've been filling with regular for 50K km. (Gas cap say min 87, "recommends" 91. I didn't take its recommendation)
I tried 91 few times. Didn't feel any difference. I thought i got slightly less gas mileage too

Haha, I was also considering the prius for the fuel economy. Because I thought I was saving money, but honestly, the depreciation, insurance will negate that pretty quickly. Unless I drove to work for the next 10 years... then maybe I will get even....?
So I ended up getting a used $800 electric bike on craigslist. The charge time is 5 hours, and I just charge it at work lol, cheap Asian in me kicked in yo. The bike has 40KM of pure electric range if I don't pedal at all.
To give context, I live near Burnaby City Hall and work near Market Crossing. It takes me about 20min to get to work on bike. If I were to drive, it takes 10min to get to work, but coming back in rush hour is actually like 25min. I have been consistently getting home earlier using the bike tbh.
Best of luck man, whichever route you take.

Bringing back an old thread,
but out of curiosity, does anyone here drive a newer 2018 Camry and/or Accord Hybrid?
and possibly a 2017/2018 Volkswagen GTI?
I'm still thinking of trading in the Mustang for something more fuel efficient (don't know about the VW GTI, but if it can average over 550km I'll be plenty happy), and with more space for both kids and wife to sit in, rather than taking out the minivan on my days off.
If you have, would you mind sharing your Pros and Cons?

What about a full electric car in this general automotive atmosphere? Ionic / Kona Electric is cheap enough now to get as a viable commuter option?

I'd always have that feeling in the back of my head, thinking how much do I have to charge and how much KM I can travel

My dad was looking at hybrid cars this spring. I went on some test drives with him. A lot of the hybrid cars are really nice, lots of features, good reliability, and excellent on gas... like 4 or 5L/100km, but man, are they soooo boring to drive and the acceleration is weak AFK.

I'm still hesitant because I like the styling / performance of the mustang. The thing is, will I regret buying a Hybrid car, losing out on the fun factors, but save a little money on fuel and have easier access to the rear seats.
Typically when I think of Hybrid, I think of "boring". I test drove the Hyundai IONIQ hybrid, and I hated it.
So, I might go take a look at VW GTI, but I'd still like to take the camry and accord hybrid for a spin.

How about a Honda Insight? It's the more conventional looking car verses the Prius

I picked up a Prius Prime last week to replace my Audi S3 daily. It is a Prius Prime Upgrade with Technology.
It's been 7 days so far, driven 650km. I commute about 110km a day from Vancouver to Langley for work. I have 3/4 tank left still. I plug in to charge whenever I can. Often at work I don't get to charge however at home I just plug into the wall plug, takes 5.5h.
My Prime has head up display, adaptive cruise, emergency braking, lane keep assist, heated steering wheel, auto high beam. Wonderful to daily. It's actually decently quick on EV mode, 60km range on pure EV.
