“I’m just so confused,” Debbie said of her grandson’s arrest. “[Tyler] is the shyest person,” she said. “He has never, ever spoke politics to me at all.”
She insisted that Robinson had “has never, ever gotten in trouble in his life.”
On Friday morning, President Donald Trump announced that, after a days-long manhunt, a suspect had been taken into custody after Kirk, 31, was shot dead during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Kirk’s death is assumed to have been a political assassination, as he was a prominent MAGA activist.
According to public records, Robinson’s parents are both registered Republicans. His mother, Amber Robinson, 44, is a licensed social worker. His father, Matt Robinson, runs a business installing kitchen countertops, cabinets, and stone surfaces in their home city of Washington, Utah. Both of them have held hunting licenses. A Facebook post made by Amber Robinson describes one of Tyler’s brothers as a “gun toting, cowboy loving, brilliant kid.”

Regarding Kirk - maybe he doesn't rise to that to the people here because he didn't directly harm you or maybe you're unfamiliar with his work but he did harm a lot of people. He actively directed his followers to target certain communities and ruined a lot of lives and put a lot of people in danger. There are certainly a group of people who, when they celebrate his death, are just releasing the feelings that Kirk created.

It’s not some run of the mill “left celebrates the death of the right” thing. Someone like John Rustad or PP or pick 99% of right wing politicians and normal people would not be posting a negative thing about them.
Charlie Kirk was a leader of the rally for overt racism and bigotry towards multiple groups of people. He said if his daughter was raped he would make her carry the baby to term. He said black women do not have the thinking power to be successful so they need to steal jobs from qualified white men. He said the civil rights act was a mistake. These words put onto a massive platform to indoctrinate disenfranchised young people due to falling quality of life in their country from their OWN government and place blame on minority groups is not only dangerous, it’s fucking abhorrent.
The far right and far left comparison is an absolute fallacy. The far right is based on removing rights from those deemed lesser through historical acts of violence and policy where the far left is campaigning on protecting these people.
No one is talking about banning Christianity, banning straight marriage or adoptions. The party who claims to be about freedom is trying to only create freedom for a group they deem worthy, while only providing freedom for small facets of society with things like gun laws, forced Christianity in school, at the expense of those they deem unworthy. Being a mouthpiece for these beliefs and policies to enrich themselves does not make someone a hero.
