During Trump's 1st term, the US had supported an opposition leader and recognized him as the the legitimate Venezuela president. Ultimately, the opposition government fell apart admist the standoff to the Maduro gov, and the opposition leader dude had fled to the US (Florida, I think?). So Trump is trying to get back at Maduro again.
Realistically, most of the drugs trafficked by Venezuela goes to Europe, so Venezuela doesn't really pose a threat to the US in terms of drug trafficking. But just since when has facts ever stopped Trump from acting irrationally?

Rev is silly, but there's a bit of a point there.
I do find the left from a communications standpoint are absolutely terrible at conveying their message effectively.
"Defund the police"
"Black lives matter"
"Shame, shame!"
I've always found some of these slogans cringe and almost intentionally bad and ineffective.

I know nothing about "elbows up" or "shame shame" but this weekend's protest was called "no kings" which references the founding of the country itself, something Trump is actively trying to ruin. It works. Oh and he and his goons call himself a king, including putting a crown on him in his retarded AI videos. So, yeah

There’s a very large portion of the people making fun of the shitty elbows up slogan (which was literally coined by Mike myers, not carney) that would drop to their knees and start sucking hard enough to get a watermelon through a garden hose every time they heard PP say “axe the tax”
