Yah just a gestappo police force compromised of racists upholding a fascist agenda operating dorectly south of the Canadian border, nothing to see here.
Did your great grandpappy say the same thing about Germany when he lived in Poland or France or perhaps Netherlands back in the mid 1930’s?
If 'worse things are happening on the planet' is the bar that were comparing things to now then you know things are getting pretty shitty over here lol
I think the historical context is what make this matter because this was in the same city/town where George Floyd was murdered. That event alone had a ripple effect across the country (including Canada) which sparked additional movements such as Black Lives Matter etc. On one hand, George Floyd, a Black male, was murdered by local police. Here, a White woman was shot during an ICE operation which its mandate is to detain/deport illegal immigrants who happen to be visible minorities. Could the ICE agents have managed the situation a bit differently? I think it's simple for us to assume that the answer is "yes" after the fact, but what has transpired has sparked debate and speculation.

For me, beyond the simple tragic fact that a person has needlessly died, the saddest thing about the incident is how the 2 sides are so polarized, and neither side really seem interested in finding out how the event factually unfolded. Instead, both sides are simply pushing hard to portrait their version of the story as the truth, and blasting the other side for how the tragedy happened.
For myself, I've looked at the video many times, including some versions where the view is more zoomed in (but then it becomes more blury). From watching the video alone, I honestly cannot come to a definitive conclusion of what had really transpired. And then when you overlay the version of story from either side, the version could potentially be completely consistent with what the video showed. Or to put it another way, I can't definitively rule out one version or the other as being a untrue.
The only definitive thing I can say is -- the ICE agent should not have provoked the driver and approached her with zero patient. When you compare this incident with how police generally deal with suspects they deem as dangerous, they only get within a certain safe distance from the person, issue a ton of warning, and then they take action when the suspect does not comply. And even then, there are enough times when police don't follow their training either and engage too quickly / too aggressively. And we all know how much more poorly trained these ICE goons are compared to actual police.

An even worse outcome now is that the U.S. government under the FBI is preventing Minnesota state officials, the state district attorney, from conducting an independent investigation of the ICE agent killing Renee Good.
What is the U.S. government, and Department of Homeland Security trying to hide? Incompetent ICE agents for sure.
-sounds like a big coverup to me when Cheeto issues a statement on social media to come up with a conclusion that Renee Good was a "terrorist" who tried to run over an ICE agent with her SUV, before an actual investigation takes place.
-heart breaking to read this article about the victim. According to the article, Renee Good died on the day of her older sister's birthday.
I cannot imagine the pain that the victim's family is experiencing now:
The woman shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis was a loving mother, a poet and a partner whose family – along with neighbors across her stunned city and strangers far beyond – is shocked by the circumstances surrounding her death.
Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old US citizen, was killed when an ICE agent shot into her vehicle during an encounter Wednesday morning.
Good’s ex-husband said she had just dropped off her 6-year-old son at school when she encountered the ICE agents, The Associated Press reported.
State and local officials have strongly disputed claims the shooting, captured on video, was done in self-defense as tensions exploded amid this week’s deployment of some 2,000 federal agents as part of the latest surge in the Trump administration’s nationwide immigration enforcement crackdown and following claims of welfare fraud in the Somali immigrant community.
Still, loved ones and leaders paused to remember the newcomer to Minnesota as “an amazing human being.”
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was extremely compassionate,” her mother, Donna Ganger, told the Minnesota Star Tribune. “She’s taken care of people all her life … She was loving, forgiving and affectionate.
Good’s death hit her family especially hard because it was her older sister’s birthday, her uncle, Robert Ganger, told CNN affiliate KMGH.
This whole shooting thing is a perfect example of how annoying online discourse has become. It's like George Floyd all over again.
Everyone microanalyses a scenario, one side argues it's just, the other the opposite, there's always the bootlickers, and the rightwing spin. It's so fucking draining man. Was the officer in danger? Likely not, but who fucking cares, this is always their plan, get everyone stuck in the minutia of it all, which I find so fucking boring.
The overriding question is, why the hell is ICE out in Minnesota in the first place, a state furthest from the southern border? We know why ICE is there, the same reason they were deployed in Oregon, to fuck with Democratic states. Trump and his admin are purposely deploying these guys to these locations to cause an event with the local populace. They're provoking people in these communities to inevitably respond violently to one of these ICE agents, allowing them to roll out whatever martial law crap they're looking to achieve.
It's so blatantly obvious.

I won't answer for N.V.M. but my response to your question is, no, they don't border us, but their actions are covert enough with potential to take over in other ways less visible to the public.

I think they're there because of the whole Somali child care "scam". But yeah,
total copout of a reason in any case. Remember, doesn't ICE have like expanded jurisdiction within 100 miles of an international border. So like is Minneapolis 100mi from the Canadian border? It is not, but who there gives a fuck?
So, in other words, they hired your typical MAGA voter...

The explosive Daily Mail report found that the administration's $50,000 signing bonus attracted droves of unqualified recruits — high school grads who can "barely read or write," overweight candidates with doctor's notes saying they're unfit, and even applicants with pending criminal charges.
The report exposed how Immigration and Customs Enforcement took a blowtorch to hiring standards, with one Department of Homeland Security official blasting: "We have people failing open-book tests and we have folks that can barely read or write English."
Officials sent recruits to a Georgia training center before drug test results came back, later discovering some tested positive.
At the academy, some recruits showed up with tattoos tied to gangs and white supremacists. One bailed for a court date on a gun charge, and another was arrested for exploding at a bus driver. To boot, sex harassment accusations emerged, with a source describing to the Daily Mail predatory behavior during training.
"This isn't the department of baking cookies," one source said. "This is the Department of Homeland Security, where you can be deported from the country.
"And we're now employing people who are not equipped to tie their own shoelaces.
"This whole thing is a complete disaster from beginning to end."
The report poured cold water on ICE claims that over 85 percent were experienced officers already trained.
I'm conflicted, sucks she got killed but regardless of your beliefs you shouldnt interfere with a law enforcement operation in progress.
I learned early on that even in a red or blue state, doesn't matter which president is in power; If you encounter US police, don't do anything sudden and cooperate. They are tense and trigger happy and I dont blame them due to US gun culture. plus US cops dont require as much education and you get some hotheads or veterans. Watch the youtube channel policeactivity and see how many routine stops turn into a shootout.

Just look at those appointed into top administrative positions with little/no experience in that area...

She wasn't interfering though (there's no evidence of this) - she was pulling out of her driveway, got stuck in an awkward position and started waving cars past and one of the ICE cars went past before the second one stopped and gave two conflicting orders of "Get out of the way" and "Get out of the car".
There was also no law enforcement operation in progress - they were just driving down the street (they later, after they killed Renee Good, went to a high school and started beating up kids though).
The news outlets I read tend to suggest that both conservative and liberal judges are skeptical on how POTUS can abuse his emergency powers to levy tariffs, bcos the US Constitution makes it pretty clear that only Congress has the authority to raise taxes at the federal level. So I am leaning more towards a ruling that'll strike the tariffs down.
On the other hand, these same news outlets / political analysts also say the Trump administration is gonna make it as difficult as possible for anyone to get refunds on the tariffs. I am also willing to bet that the SCOTUS, as biased as it is, will do as little as possible in spelling out the steps that the Trump gov needs to take to administer the refunds. In theory, they have that power to demand how certain things are done as part of the ruling, but once again, I am betting that they will go out of their way to only hand a symbolic victory to the anti-tariff / anti-Trump side, while actually doing very little to make Trump return the money that the tariffs have collected.

The agents were laughing when he asked about the woman who got shot.
Can anybody find the full 7 minute clip on twitter?
