Lmao, well played by the Dems, because now the king of claiming the Dems were covering things up just looks like a fool.
And imo any Presidential candidate linked with Trump in 2028 will be a liability, so I don’t think JD Vance is a shoe in. It's only going to go two ways, either the Trump presidency r recovers somewhat and he ends on a high note, or it ends in a shitshow and anything related to his presidency becomes toxic. I’m going with the latter.

It’s been a fucking shitshow since day 1 of his first term and people still would shoot their own kid for him. People are too fucking dumb or too stubborn to admit they were wrong. He will have unwavering support until the end from his fuckin loser fanbase decked out head to toe in his merch. Stupid fucks.

Brett Ratner, the director of “Melania,” the new documentary about First Lady Melania Trump, was spotted in the Justice Department’s Friday release of thousands of files on Jeffrey Epstein, Vanity Fair reported late Friday.
Among the thousands of files released by the DOJ Friday, internet sleuths were quick to identify Ratner in an updated photograph with a shirtless man that appears to be Jean-Luc Brunel, a French model scout and owner of the international modeling agency MC2 Model Management, which has considerable financial backing from Epstein.
Brunel died by apparent suicide in 2022 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, as did Epstein in 2019.
Ratner made his directorial debut in the 1990s with the release of “Money Talks,” and went on to direct the popular “Rush Hour” films before being ousted from Hollywood in 2018 amid sexual misconduct allegations. While he moved to Israel in 2023, Ratner is now set to direct “Rush Hour 4” after the project was greenlit by Paramount, and after President Donald Trump “lobbied” for the studio to take up Ratner’s project.
That's wild they threw in photos from public charity events that had nothing to do with Epstein, like the photos with Clinton, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross with their kid's faces concealed. They didn't think people could do a reverse image search on that?
Look at the redactions on some of these documents, it's pretty wild:
"During one of Doe's encounters with Epstein, he took her to Mar-a-Lago where he introduced her to its owner, Donald J. Trump. Introducing 14-year-old Doe to Donald J. Trump, Epstein elbowed Trump playfully asking him, referring to Doe, "This is a good one, right?" Trump smiled and nodded in agreement. They both chuckled and Doe felt uncomfortable, but, at the time, was too young to understand why."
"[A]nother friend ... was one of the many girls that had sexual relations with Donald Trump ... She confided in me about her casual 'friendship' with Donald. Mr. Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her 'pert nipples'. Donald Trump liked flicking and sucking her nipples until they were raw. One evening when we were showering together she showed me her nipples. They looked incredibly painful as they were red and swollen and I remember wincing when I looked at them. I also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery's NY mansion on regular occasions as I once met Jen for coffee, just before she was going to meet Trump and Epstein together at his mansion." A $6 billion nuclear deal has Trump’s name all over it. It’s raising serious ethics concerns.
The Trump business empire’s expansion into nuclear fusion is alarming ethics experts, who warn it poses glaring conflicts of interest and risks the federal government playing favorites in what could be the holy grail of clean energy.
Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) shocked Wall Street last week by arranging a $6 billion marriage with TAE Technologies, a Google-backed company at the leading edge of fusion energy.
The merger means that soon, President Donald Trump will simultaneously have a major financial interest in a company whose fortunes will be influenced by the actions of a government that Trump himself presides over.
An instant $500 million boost to Trump’s fortune
The fusion deal caused an immediate boost to Trump’s net worth.
Trump Media’s share price skyrocketed 42% when the merger was announced on Thursday. That increased the value of the stake Trump owns through a trust, by $500 million to $1.7 billion. Trump Media’s share price continued to climb Friday, increasing the value of that stake to above $1.8 billion.
‘Bad for humanity’
Rep. Don Beyer, a Democrat from Virginia who co-chairs the House Fusion Energy Caucus, told CNN in a phone interview that he was “stunned” by the Trump Media deal.
“I hate the thought of a president who puts his name on the Kennedy Center putting his foot on the scale of who the winners and losers are in fusion energy,” Beyer said.
Beyer said he has been “encouraged” by the Energy Department’s support for fusion energy and is pleased to have a president supportive of the industry.
The Trump administration in October released a Fusion Science and Technology Roadmap that “aims to usher a burgeoning fusion private sector industry in the US toward maturity on the most rapid timeline.”
But Beyer noted there are more than two dozen fusion companies operating in the United States, some of which are further along in development than TAE.
I just don't understand what's happening, was it always this corrupt, what happened to the checks and balances, this whole system seems like a big facade.

It is what happens when the person in position of power has no shame. Further to that, it is also what happens when the people who are supposed to be part of the checks and balances -- ie. House, Senate, and SCOTUS etc. -- have no guts or moral compass to perform their duty as they should have.

Right now, the US has no moral ground to stand on accusing other governments or dictators of corruption.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped them from bullying other countries (i.e. Venezuela)

I was reading into TAE a little more this morning, and grift is even more insane when you look at the numbers.
A merger between a company who's stock (DJT) has been circling the drain, with $4 million dollars in revenue in 2023, and a $6 billion dollar company, where they will both own half of each other.
"The $6 billion valuation stems from the all-stock deal with Trump Media, where shareholders of both entities will each own about 50% of the combined company upon closing, which is expected by mid-2026."
Make it make sense.

I wonder how much of what Trump is doing would have been possible in a parliamentary system. It's become so apparent that the Presidential system they have doesn't actually have real cheques and balances and that the cheques and balances were always about manners and tradition so as soon as someone is willing to ignore manners and tradition then democracy goes right out the door.
It seems it's way harder in the parliamentary system for a single person to act as a dictator (not that it's not possible).
I believe the founding fathers had thought that people would put country ahead of their own personal interests. "Government of the people, by the people, for the people."
That folks would get elected for a term or 2, and go back to their previous lives. They didn't want an elite ruling class, as they saw it in Britain. However, as usual, human nature took over. Why go back to a day job when people try to curry favour with you and you get to be in charge?
Instead, we get career politicians like PP, who've never worked any 'real world' job his entire adult life.

For me, I find the Venezuela situation pretty interesting in the sense that the Trump administration has recalibrated their moves. On one hand, they have become less emboldened because of the widespread criticism they received, including "accusations" of extrajudicial killings and war crime. (Accusation what? They were absolutely extrajudical killings and war crime if you ask me.) So they have now reverted back to arrests / seizing the vessels.
On the other hand, the US has also become more emboldened. Leavitt has indicated that they plan on seizing the oil carried by the tankers. The only interpretation I can get out of that description is -- the US is practically engaging in robbery / piracy. Leavitt says there is a legal process to follow for that to happen, but with my faith in the US judicial system at an all time low, I think whatever legal process the US will "follow" on this is a sham anyway.
If you compare this US seizing of Venezulan oil to what the EU was trying to do with Russia's frozen assets in Belgium, you'll see a stark difference as well. Of course, Venezula is a tiny pos 3rd world country at this point, so I am not surprised to see the US/Trump bullying them. Whereas with Russia, they are a nuclear armed country, so the EU would inevitably have to tread far more carefully.
Without being too long winded on the subject, the US' future plans with Venezula oil may also carry a direct impact on Alberta's oil sector. Apparently, Venezula crude is basically chemically identical to the Alberta oil sands, and are in fact much easier to extract. There would still be a massive amount of work to be done to make it viable, including no shortage of risks. But if the US can successfully bring up Venezula oil production again, those Venezula crude can pretty much directly replace the Alberta oil at a far lower price.

So CBS pulled a 60 minutes story on the Cecot prision in El Salvador, the prison ICE is sending people to just hours before it was to air. Well no one told Global so you can watch it in Canada.
CBS News was dealing with internal and external uproar on Monday after it pulled at the last minute an investigation for its flagship 60 Minutes show into the harsh prison in El Salvador where the Trump administration deported hundreds of Venezuelans from the US earlier this year.
The episode about the Cecot mega-prison was due to air on Sunday night. However, in an “editor’s note” posted on X late that afternoon, the broadcaster’s official account announced that “the lineup for tonight’s edition of 60 Minutes has been updated. Our report ‘Inside Cecot’ will air in a future broadcast.”
Outrage followed, including from the key correspondent on the planned segment, Sharyn Alfonsi. She had interviewed some of those recently released about the “brutal and torturous” prison conditions. The Paramount Plus website had said on Sunday the segment was scheduled to air at 7.30pm ET that evening.
Bari Weiss, controversially appointed editor-in-chief of CBS News in October despite a lack of experience and fears of politicization at the storied TV network, after owner Paramount acquired her conservative startup the Free Press, addressed the issue on Monday morning.
