As to the 3 series including leather, it seems like the BMW configurator automatically selects leather along with 2.4k of other options even on just a 330i xDrive, regular automatic (not sport).

If you dig a little deeper, you'll see that leather is a $990 option, with Black/Veneto Beige leatherette being $0 option.

There were minor issues with the MB-Tex ripping at the seams due to the lack of strength with the perforation. I had this issue with our W204, and the upholstery shop said they were contacted by a few other people for the same reason.

I think there was a small revision for the W205.
