I was talking with some friends and we both have some weird and quirky cars, and some of other friends just called us weird.

Fiat 500 Abarth, very girly looking car but if you ever convince yourself to drive one, they are a blast. A $300-500 tune will get you just over 200HP.

They are also THE best sounding 4 cylinder cars that you could buy, relatively light and handle pretty well with their stiff suspension.

- the styling doesn't stand out as much now, but in the late 90's - early 2000's it sure did. You either loved it or hated it.

I'm all about the weird cars. Sleepers especially. Owned 4 in my life.

But I always thought these were particularly interesting. Haven't owned either.

They were a rebadged Isuzu Piazza / Impulse. They were made in Japan. GM was just being GM by bankrolling them and meddling in their projects.

GM owned Lotus at the time as well hence the 'handling' part.

And then we wonder why GM went up in flames in 2009.

A friend of mine has an Isuzu Impulse RS (turbo AWD), from memory they had forged internals from the factory. While googling the trim level for the turbo one I found out there's a first gen I'd never even heard of. I kinda like it :/

If it's not a Sportback (Wagonback) I don't care.

Had a Buick in the family growing up. Still want one as an adult but no way I can realistically afford one in good condition.
