I just do chicken karaage as a home deep fry option. Soy sauce, mirin, garlic, potato starch.
It's fine, but it's no LA.

I feel like people aren't telling the server to fry up fresh ones.
You can not judge based off chicken that's been lying under the lamps for God knows how long.
It's gotta be fresh out the fryer people. Fried chicken101

It's fine, but it's no LA. | my mom used to make the simplest fried chicken recipe but it's just incredible. she uses chicken wings only, and the only ingredients are lots of grated ginger, and soy sauce as a marinade. marinate for 30m, then coat in corn starch and deep fry.. you can thank me later...

Every churches I see is filled with Chinese people | Bro if you were down south you were supposed to eat Bojanges. It's a cleaner version of Church's chicken with 4L sweet tea, butter & honey biscuits, mac n cheese and other amazing sides.

I don't think there can be any debate. LA Chicken is hands down the best chicken place in Vancouver, by a long shot. Worth the trip out to Richmond if you don't live out there.

So I went to LA Chicken. Waited half an hour plus because buddy forgot my order. He was very friendly though, all smile. Most people wait 15-20 minutes. Plus 1 hour round trip from Vancouver.
Chicken itself was a bit of a notch up from Church but not that much. It was very good value, $31 for 20 pieces, but not worth the trip and the wait. You can pretty much go to Church and walk out under a minute or two with your order.

Yah I've been waiting to go to DL Chicken since it opened, but I don't want to deal with the lineups. Typical Vancouver hype-train.
I was in Tennessee all last wee, kicking off a new work project. I went to a few places for fried and hot chicken. Doesn't matter what we do here, it doesn't match up what they can push out in Tennessee (and for a lot cheaper). I went to Edley's BBQ in Chattanooga which is a regional chain. Damn their hot chicken was good and spicy, although a little different as it was boneless strips.
Also went to a place called The Flaming Rooster which is a small little shop. Theirs is more typical hot chicken where you can choose from a variety of spice levels. I got mild and it still had kick.
