I got pulled over by bike cop when I had mine back in 2014 around the post office by Georgia st / Stadium.

Cop was annoyed it was burble, cracking and popping.

Bike cop looked under, said my muffler was missing, told the guy it was stock and showed him google image. The guy Let me go and told me to drive safe. :lawl::lawl:

lol, one step at a time for me. I finally decided to get rid of my crackle and pop tune after running it for the past 5 years.

I changed my turbo and downpipe this summer and I enjoy the new power, but my car kind of drones now when I'm on full boost. I bought some Noico sound deadender and going to see if I can quiet this down. ugh..

Well, I should reiterate that I don't hate louder than stock exhaust but I really dislike the obnoxiously loud ones. Like those Armytrix/Akrapovic (I assume) or whatever the hell it is that people install on their M2 (There's also 1 in neighboring building with that exhaust) that sounds like the the car is about to break down when it crackles on sport mode.

Drone at full boost would be okay by me. Drone at cruise would be a problem.

there's a difference between having a loud car, and being a dick imo
my car is pretty freakin loud if I want it to be, and i'll be the first to admit it. however, i don't drive like a dick and bang each gear everywhere i go, so it sounds pretty mild.
i've even checked in with my neighbours to ask if I annoy them and they never really notice me (living in a townhome complex). Same with a dood in my complex that has a badass white evo, i can tell it's loud but i barely notice him, just a grumble in and out of the complex.
on the other hand... there are lots of dick heads that bang their shitty 4 bangers up and down the road, and mustangs peeling out of a stop sign....

my point, have a dope ass ride, put whatever exhaust you want, just don't be a dick and ruin it for the rest of us.

6thGear. 10-25-2021 07:20 PM

Back in the day, having a loud exhaust also meant being respectful in your neighborhood/complex. These days that's so nonexistant. It's like a penis enlargement to show how small ones penis is by making sure one's exhaust is fucking loud. Maybe there's just a bunch of dickheads in my area

I'm finding really ironic or perhaps true to thread that I started this thread, yet on some minor level I'm hoping Delta PD steps up loud car enforcement in my area.

Always got some asshole in a straight piped viper blasting it through my residential area and up the highway. Highway noise never bothered me, but some asshole who rips up and down it does. If not that guy, a shitty r18 civic with a muffler delete, a mk4 golf, list goes on with shitty ppl downshifting right past my house.

Must be cause my E36 M3 is parked outside :smug:

Straight piped or not a Viper is probably gonna rattle your fillings.

The problem with VPD was they weren't just picking on loud exhausts, they were picking on a wild variety of other mods, some more/less deserved than others.

I'm getting old, I wish my M3 was quieter sometimes.

320icar 10-25-2021 10:50 PM

Agreed. I loudenated my car the other week, regret is 95%.

68style 10-25-2021 11:05 PM

Vipers actually kinda sound like shit... I wish I was joking, but I'm not... even with aftermarket exhausts they sound terrible especially given it's a V10

JDMDreams 10-26-2021 09:04 AM

I think the issue is that basically any car after 2005 started sounding like ass, with all the turbo charging, emissions etc. It wasn't like the good old days with the spoon n1 or vqs. All of the newer turbo cars just sound like an old man blowing through a straw but with farts. I think this started with the gtis with dsg.

Even new performance cars, M AMG sounded like shit once they turboed it. I think the only good sounding turbo car is the Gtr or STI but then that's like a 20 year old motor:troll:

Just compare the Na C63, current Mustang 5.0, Maserati Na V8, compared to the new turbo cars. The new Ferrari turbo Maserati, Alfa Romeo engines sounds like nothing. Even the urus, I was so disappointed when they put a V8 in a Lamborghini.

I think maybe if the car was supercharged it will still make decent sounds like the hell cat or jaguar V8 but turbo cars don't sound good even with exhausts. A45, type r

And at this point ev has already surpassed gas cars, any Tesla can easily out accelerate ice performance cars.

6thGear. 10-26-2021 10:00 PM

ICE performace car > Tesla Just not the same feeling with EV/Tesla

Speaking of Tesla, anyone happy with their stock rising again lol. Too bad I sold it off earlier this year:okay:

JDMDreams 10-27-2021 08:39 AM

^^ that's if we have roads to drive it on. If you live in Van it sucks, you are in idling in stop and go bumper to bumper traffic all day. Then you have taxi, Uber drivers learning to drive, delivery vans think they own the road. If you are on a cruise somewhere yes, but you can't beat ev in city traffic.

Fresh off the OPCC press, Page 31 of the annual report:

https://opcc.bc.ca/wp-content/upload...dit-online.pdf

Quote:

DESIGNATED INSPECTION FACILITIES
Recommendation to Director of Police Services
Interpretation and application of Division 25 and the issuance of Notice and Orders

Recommendation
• Consideration should be given to review the practice of police directing motor vehicle operator’s attendance to specific Designated Inspection Facilities.

Spoiler!

Making Change
Based on the complaints submitted to the OPCC and a review of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations, the OPCC determined that there has been a misapplication by the VPD Traffic Section of the authorities granted under the MVAR causing cost and considerable inconvenience to the public. As complaints to the Vancouver Police Board did not adequately address the matter, the Commissioner wrote to the Director of Police Services requesting that they review this practice by VPD to determine whether additional clarity is required to assist departments with the interpretation and application of this regulation.

68style 11-10-2021 09:47 AM

Hahahahahs TLDR… just kidding everyone should read that.

I surprised they put that in writing they’re opening themselves up to a lot of lawsuits from people who had to spend thousands of dollars under the direction of some officers.

EvoFire 11-10-2021 09:51 AM

Waiting for the review on the unnecessary noise law as well.

I still enjoy rowing through the first 2 gears and playing with the clutch in traffic rather than sit there in an auto. lol. Actually helps me get through mundane traffic.

requesting review of practice if additional clarity is needed

can/will they just be like 'ya - we reviewed, no clarity needed' off we go and nothing changes.

At least its acknowledged, if it does come out to be a reoccurring issue then something may change.

Write now its just penciled in.

xXSupa 11-10-2021 12:00 PM

At the very least, it shows that if enough people complain about it, they will acknowledge it.

I'm sure this will hold some value if you get a ticket for non-compliance for taking it to a non-dealership inspection centre and dispute it.

This part specifically. The people who passed their inspection and got follow up tickets (Failure to comply I think it was?) - given this i wonder if they can dispute these tickets or sue to get their money back.
