Don’t you buy a GTR so it can’t do that? Lol

whitev70r 10-07-2018 01:07 PM

How long before we see white rebuilt GTR for cheap on CL?

dorian 10-07-2018 01:32 PM

guy kept his foot on the gas pedal, was spinning the whole time...driver error

saw it live

poor GT-R

tofu1413 10-07-2018 01:53 PM

definitely driver error.

probably lifted as well, as these cars with a heavy foot can sort itself out with some minimal steering input.

lots of fun WOT in the rain going sideways while still pulling forward.

clevernickname 10-07-2018 02:53 PM

Did he turn off traction control? Do you need to do that in a drag race though?

mr00jimbo 10-07-2018 03:33 PM

Ouch. I hope he has some kind of track insurance.

Mr.Money 10-07-2018 04:10 PM

how were track conditions?...for 4 wheel and spinning that quick seems really odd...full on gas while losing control..SNAP.

westopher 10-07-2018 04:25 PM

Bummer. Damage gets so much more the faster you go, and cars that fast get into "heavy damage territory" faster than I'd ever want to be there.

bcrdukes 10-07-2018 05:24 PM

Sad this happened, but let's be thankful this happened on the track, and not on the street.

One YouTube comment says it was 6 deg at the time of the accident.

yray 10-07-2018 05:47 PM

That thing is far from stock by the sounds of it.

Maybe still had his tires at daily driver pressures...

tegra7 10-07-2018 06:17 PM

Converted to rwd?

he will just tell icbc "someone back into my car in the parking lot"

!Aznboi128 10-08-2018 08:25 AM

Kept spinning the wheels, I guess he thought the awd would just work itself out.

Gerbs 10-08-2018 09:42 AM

What are you supposed to do when you lose traction like that

I would assume, if you hear your rev limiter pegging from 1st and 2nd. Lift lol

I mean, people do say that GT-R is a computer on wheels. Guess the driver just expected the car to fix itself.

Never personally liked the GT-R much. Still a shame, though.

Digitalis 10-08-2018 11:37 AM

I thought lifting is what made him understeer like that instead of staying on it and steering?
Front the front angle it looks like he lifted from the rear view it looks like he stayed on it too long :S

Provide better control inputs than what he did.

Everyone is going to have an opinion on how to have better handle that situation, there was more than one way to save that.

Is that a thing? I've been told we don't have that here and the moment your tires touch a track you're on the hook 100%.

AzNightmare 10-08-2018 04:20 PM

:fuckthatshit:

Could have done that with a Mustang for half the price...

dark0821 10-08-2018 04:52 PM

honestly, would've panicked and probably ended up the same result. Fully lifting off the throttle was definitely how you correct that situation. But yea, lol... honestly in that split second, I doubt myself would've performed better.

Im interested in Track Insurance as well, please do chime in =P
