2019 CX-5: does it turbo? Quote:
would you pay 50k for one? |
I wouldn't say it'll be 50k as it doesn't directly correlate with the currency exchange. The Current CX-5 is 38k cad, which means the Signature should be 45k or so. considering the cx-9 signature is 53k vs the GT at 50k + the engine option |
~45,000 with tax & fees is 50G otd |
Not paying even 40k for any Mazda. |
Was hoping they’d offer this engine with a 6-speed in the 6, but auto only :( |

cx-5 is kinda up there with cr-v and rav4 in sales; impressive for a smaller company |

The CX-5 is a big ass seller in Canada relative to the size of Mazda though not quite up there with the CR-V or Rav4. Re: Pricing - $45-46K for a loaded seems pretty steep but a CR-V Touring is $40.6K and the CX-5 Signature is more luxurious, has more features and is going to be a good bit faster. Seems like a reasonable price bump though it's getting into RDX territory for pricing. |
dang didnt' realize CR-V tops out at 40k now I think it's priced right and they're trying to move up-class as a marque...but still seems like a fair bit for a compact crossover that isn't badged Acura or Lexus |

agreed, but it's just a mindset you review cars so you know what you're talking about I just feel the line between regular brands and luxury divisions are really starting to blur (FCA vehicles aside) that said, Mazda seems to be built pretty cut-throat (you get more for your dollar)…so they still have to cut corners somehow...the little things still feel flimsy like the control dial and visors; and their paint seems to be quite thin (PPF almost mandatory) otherwise I think they have the best styling and best driving characteristics, almost every model is still assembled in Japan (Mexico-built Mazda3 :heckno:), and just overall good value |

I mean the interiors of the Insight of signature models of the Mazdas are better than 3-series BMW. |
Finally something that might be worth switching away from my RAV4 V6 for. |

https://www.docdroid.net/mjZMMPd/19-...ecs.pdf#page=2 2019 CX5 spec sheet 227hp on reg gas, 250 hp on premium 310tq @ 2k rpm Impressive numbers. Looks like the same numbers as the 6 and the CX9? Starting to think I should've just waited it out for the 2019 models before pulling the trigger on our '18 Forester XT. Prefer the styling of the first gen CX5 over the current model with the squished head and tail lights. |
what's the advantage of a CX-9 now? just 3rd row? did Mazda Canada ever offer the diesel CX-5? |
Basically the 9 is bigger with 3 rows of seats And that's about it of all of this is true. |
I refuse to buy anything with a turbo |
Feel free to msg me if you guys need any more info on it |

Mazda lacks a premium brand, so they are making the higher trim models premium instead to make up for it. I test drove a Mazda 6 2.5T GT for a friend recently. The styling is elegant, the interior is nice and comfy, transmission is pretty responsive, and the engine doesn't turbo lag much. Very good package IMO. Quote:
The Ecoboost Mustang are using a 10AT now, though, so I am not sure how well that works. |

RS discount 30k with taxes out the door with zero percent interest? |

Edit: Mazda.ca has freight and PDI of $1,895 plus A/C and tire fees of $125 so that would make the GT $41,470 and the Signature $42,970. Considering a loaded CR-V Touring goes for $40,810 those look like pretty good/great pricing. |
