I did see a few apex editions on the street, and paired with the flat grey paint it does look pretty good better than civics

The current gen Corollas actually look quite nice. They top trimmed ones looked a lot sportier and faster than they were.

Current gen Civics are pretty mundane looking. The Si doesn't look sporty at all.

Eh, for how long is the real question. You can make a lot of cars make a lot of power for one dyno chart and one Youtube video.

Looks like a new teaser image for the GR Corolla just came out, and it looks kinda cool that it's lifted.

Even if it doesn't last very long at 470, the fact that it can get there at all would lead me to believe tuning one up to say 350 wouldn't be an issue for longevity.

Looks like Toyota announced a limited-run GRMN Yaris for Japan, limited to 500 units.
Quote:
Chiba, Japan, January 14, 2022―TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) premiered the "GRMN*1 Yaris"*2 at Tokyo Auto Salon 2022*3 on January 14. Sales of a 500-unit limited edition model are expected to begin at GR Garages nationwide around summer 2022. The GRMN Yaris is a fully tuned model of the GR Yaris that has gone through rigorous refinement with professional drivers. In addition, a new program is to be activated that will deliver to customers the type of daily vehicle evolution and driver-tailored customization that takes place in motorsports.

Toyota just announced the facelifted GR Yaris, now with more power and an Automatic.

https://newsroom.toyota.eu/world-deb...yo-auto-salon/
Quote:
Significant enhancements for Toyota’s motorsport-bred high-performance hatchback,
Maximum power from the in-line three-cylinder 1.6-litre turbocharged engine increased to 280 DIN hp/206 kW, with a Torque of 390 Nm
Brand new eight-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission option with competition-standard rapid shifting
Redesigned driver’s cockpit tailored with race car-inspired digital instrumentation and improved location of key controls and data sources
Increased body rigidity and strengthened suspension
Full-time all-wheel drive and new selectable drive modes
Single “Circuit” specification version to be offered in Europe, with powertrain cooling package as standard
Not sure what Toyota's thinking with the new dashboard design - everyone is trying to move away from bezels but Toyota's going full 2000s with that giant new slab of plastic...
