Yeast is more precious than TP right now. Even TP has been slowly restocked ... find me a place that has yeast in stock and I bet you there will be pandemonium.

Anyone know where you can get a sit stand desk that's in stock and shipped within a reasonable time?

lowside67 04-16-2020 03:51 PM

I guarantee none of these motherfuckers who have panic bought yeast are baking bread... you know, because there has literally been 0 disruption of any kind to the supply of bread. On the other hand, all I've wanted to do for the last 6 weeks was bake some pretzels to waste some time... but nope, no yeast cuz it's in the back cupboard of every moron's cupboard who will have it sit there until the end of time.

Yea..I’ve been actively attempting baking for last couple months

Then all this shit happens and this guy at work who is like petrified of the virus scolding people for buying fresh bread from stores etc. “I only bake my own now!”

I’m like bro, bread probably touches 1 or 2 peoples hands by the time you buy it locally. Where as buying the ducking ingredients to bake you’re probably coming into contact with dozens of not hundreds of people lol

If you already have a desk that you can convert: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/habi...p-400-2365320/

We used our last dishwasher pod, last night. Today, we are hand-washing dishes right after we are done using them. I hope we can be diligent enough to keep this up until we need to go restock on food/supplies again.

Have a Costco membership? https://www.costco.ca/finish-powerba...100542049.html

I just had some delivered. Ordered from Costco a couple of times now. The site warns lengthy delivery but I’ve received some items in 2-3 days. Still more to come though.

Anyone know where I can insure my car in Richmond? I need new plates so it’s not a renewal.

This has been my BIGGEST fear and I am SOOOOO thankful I found it. Not costco, not safeway, not save on foods, but a local mom and pop china store.

It's CHINA brand... I was super skeptical, but DANGGGGG. It's 1/2 the price than fleischmann's and it works..... so i ain't complaining... I got 10 packs so i'm set. I can go check tmw to see if they have it.

Yup, price smart foods... in the same mall on #3 road, their store is still open.

Honestly, I bought 2 new chairs in the last 5 yrs, and realized the foam is the first that goes and i rarely adjust lumbar + tilt etc....

What I did was invest in a really good seat foam and gave up buying new chairs.

I have a brand new container of Fleishman Yeast in the pantry. My son bakes and he asked me to get some about two weeks ago. Got it at Superstore. Probably two or three left on the shelves at the the time. Nothing on shelves since.

Shop like a dad..................

My 2nd car's icbc renewal is coming up and I see no point of renewing. I only use this to commute to work and I haven't driven since early March.

If I keep it in my garage, do I still need storage insurance?

If you don’t have storage insurance and someone steals your car, you won’t get anything from ICBC. Yes, that’s the worst case scenario, so it all depends on your level of risk tolerance.

I think storage insurance is pretty cheap though.

SFU_wmc 04-16-2020 11:59 PM

Do you need to return your plates if you transfer it to storage insurance?

If you let the insurance run out then buy storage insurance, no.
If you cancel early to change to storage insurance, yes.

If you let the insurance run out, you can reuse the same plate later and save yourself the $18 or whatever it costs these days for a new plate.

If I just let it expire, do I have to do anything? Visit autoplan broker to fill out forms or something?

Hey bro I was an amateur baker before it became cool!

Although the wife cooked my sourdough starter the other day so now I’m feeling lost

Do nothing. When you go to reuse the plate, you verbally tell them that you will use the same plate. The broker doesn't need to physically see the plate.

RIP sweet baby sourdough starter

Time to start another one. We're gonna be in this for the long haul.

Smaller supermarkets on Main St carry yeast for all those looking. My wife loves to bake (prior to Covid) and scored a 250 gram pack of Bob's Red Mill yeast last weekend.
