The assembly pretty much took bang on 2 hours which some people complained about in the reviews etc. But it is very basic and very straightforward. It’s just a lot of steps

Neither side folds down unfortunately but you could live without the non-burner side and add it back on whenever you wish If space is a concern, it’s only 4 nuts and 2 plates

It looks like this model isn't available in natural gas unfortunately, I may have to go with the E310 then. It sounds like a 3 burner is the way to go at least

That's what cheap BBQs do. Not enough galvanizing and protection against corrosion.

We don’t have a large backyard between the families anymore so it’s propane for us now /sigh

Yeah cheap stamped metal. Any BBQ with a firebox made out of thin gauge porcelain coated sheet metal has a limited lifespan before they burn out and fall apart.

In Contrast fireboxes made out of thick cast aluminum like the Webers or Napoleons will never burn out.

Yep! Instead of spending $300 on a Crappy Tire BBQ, I went and bought a used Genesis E-330 on Craigslist for the same money and ended up with a much better BBQ, with replaceable parts and much better build quality. Best purchase for my patio, bar none.

Have to say I'm very glad I created this thread, just got a Weber genesis ce-330 from Johnstone's, for only $50 more than Costco who didn't even have in stock. Just have to wait for it to arrive from North Van unless I have time to go grab it

A+ for Johnstone's!

This was a long time ago, but the original owner personally delivered our BBQs to us fully assembled. I don't know if they do that anymore. (I assume no given the COVID situation.)

^This.

Bought by grill from Johnstone's as well.

Damn thing took my almost 2 hours to assemble, only to find the grill box was cracked.

They came and delivered a new assembled one for me, and took back the other one, no problem at all.

I'd definitely buy from them again.

Come to think of it, we bought our BBQs from Johnstone's 15 years ago. I know my folks still go there to get replacement parts for wear and tear items.

Man.. I got horrible service from Johnstones. Glad you all got good service but I ordered a bunch of accessories for my Broil King Keg and the parts dude was consistently rude.

To make things awesome, I ordered the parts from N Van as they were opening the Surrey location around the same time. Was hoping I’d work with someone else at the new location when the parts arrived but as luck would have it, he was transferred there so I had to continue to deal with him lol

I guess it was just the one guy, but his attitude was so off-putting I haven’t spent a dime there since.

Do not buy those stupid wooden paddle scrapers they are shit, complete garbage

If anyone wants one I’ll give you my lightly used one for free, they are really only good for slim grills and even then it doesn’t really get down into the grooves

the genesis weber at costco was a good deal....but i think they sold out of that 2-3 months ago..they have this spirit one there now but it looks like an older model...i got a spirit e310 end of last year for $450 delivered bnib which is the newer version with no front storage doors..not sure i would spend $800 for a weber spirit if its an older version and you can get a genesis for $200 more...unless those were made in USA and the ones these days are not (made in china)?

Once a season, I take out the grills and scrape down the sides of the fire box to remove build up. Same with the flame hoods (whatever they're called) to remove build up. Clean and oil the grates, etc.

I got a Napoleon Se425 natural gas. Assembled it recently. I have a large deck but appreciate that sides can fold down for storage. Loving it! Would definitely recommend.

that's a bummer - all i can say is that even if you don't shop at Johnstones, find another local supplier/small business to support.

(I know they struggled w the parts department for awhile - I believe they discontinued the wholesale side of it in order to better support end customers such as yourself)

We have a small condo balcony and needed a BBQ. Because of size, 2-burner was going to be the best option, and one we could easily roll around.

The original plan was Weber Spirit E210. I had a Weber Q at my last place and found Weber quality to be the best, and their warranty/parts dept was awesome. So I wanted to stay loyal to the brand.

Looking at the E210, I was actually more interested in the older model, for the fact it had 4 wheels, a closed cart, and both shelves folded. The upgraded model seemed a lot worse to me, with only one folding shelf, open cart, and two wheels. It's like they downgraded it.

Unfortunately the E210 however ended up being too large. So, we ended up going with Napoleon's 2-burner Rogue because of it's smaller footprint.

I wanted to get it from Johnstone's (supporting local business) but Trail Appliances offered free delivery, free assembly, free tool kit, free pizza stone and free cover. Couldn't say no to that.

BBQ arrived today, going to season the grills tonight and have our first meal tomorrow

The new models are Made in China, no longer Made in USA, unless you go for the LX models I believe. Hence the Genesis II and the Spirit II models are a bit of a downgrade to me, IMO.

That's why I wanted an older Genesis rather than the new one.

Such a joy to cook on a new grill. Using my shitty Canadian tire special it really had gotten to the point of using it into degradation like driving a car with an engine noise that gradually gets worse but as it does you get used to it and it becomes the norm lol..

Nothing special but enjoyed cooking on the bbq again
