bought 3 windows key from kinguin.net for around $44 each
worked fine when installing except one key made me call microsoft with their number given during installation to verify its the real key.
all 3 worked fine , just download the windows 10 iso from the main website and install it to the USB via USB software that can be google searched

I personally think it's pointless to buy the grey market keys.
If you're going to do that, you might as well just pirate a key.

You can still use W7/W8 keys to install W10 if you have one handy.

i dont believe pirated win10 affects functionality at all, you're just left with an ugly watermark
as long as microsoft can spy on you they achieved their goal
probably unrelated but my oem genuine copy gives me more problems when it comes to stability...

Okay, I'm blonde, I thought my son's birthday was Wednesday but it is actually today; that garnered an eyebrow lift from my wife, but life went on. I woke up early this morning, set everything up, installed Windows (the Amazon $20 key worked fine), all updates installed, and now I'm just waiting for my son to wake up - which should be any minute now. Computer was under $1500 all built; add the monitor, mouse/keyboard, headset, speakers, and camera came all in for $2100 with tax.
@roastpuff - thank you so very much, your help is greatly appreciated and you are about to see one happy little 10 year old boy. I owe you beer(s) - which I believe are the best IOUs to have, but that's subjective.
Here it is, waiting for him to awake. Audio test was the obligatory Free Bird.

Here is the final build sheet, plus I added the Knucker 4 in 1 keyboard/mouse/headset so he could pull his Razer stuff from the Playstation: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX68953
The computer seems bloody fast to me, does everything immediately once you click, but then again I am always using old laptops for general internet browsing.

Alright, digging this back up as now munchkin #2 is having a birthday next month and low and behold, he wants his own computer (he's been using Mom's for several months). Aren't kids cute (and bloody expensive)?
I still only grasp the basics of all the possible components, but I tried putting something together like last time. I just don't know if I have chosen everything that works; more important, I would like to get everything from MemoryExpress again, so I don't know what other components to choose if it isn't on the PCParts list. Any feedback, please? Budget is sub $2k without monitor. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/yJpBj2

Ive only started looking at building a PC for myself after staying away for the last 6 years. Looking at your parts list and price. This may be a better buy if though its a prebuilt. https://www.amazon.ca/CyberpowerPC-S...s%2C237&sr=8-1 |

roastpuff - you're the man. Working on that build now, but Burnaby is easier for me to get to.
twixxer - I saw that computer on Amazon last night, wasn't sure about it, though. It looks good, no doubt. I do try to buy local if possible.

Seems like you’re much better off with DIY or getting ME to put it together for you.
