The Ecoboosts are meh, looks good on paper. According to a friend there's not a whole lot of room to make more. It seems like an economy build engine that's been maxed out to look good.

68style 05-18-2022 02:10 PM

Mmmmmmm I think in 2020 the Mustang got the Focus RS's ecoboost cylinder head design and other improvements.... so that engine should be able to push out quite a bit more power... not as much as the RS as I believe the block materials are different (320icar can speak to that much more than I could) but there's definitely room to move up beyond stock power figures.

Still sounds like shit though.

460HP 5.0 V8 base base model Mustang GT was $33k CAD in 2019 during employee pricing.

I drove an Ecoboost Stang for a bit for company car.
Awful motor - only 2MPG better than V8, very laggy, tiny intercooler meant heatsoak after just two minutes in traffic, power delivery was all over the map (lots of surging/pulling timing)... 0/10 would recommend.

Apparently cad pricing will start at like $48500. Seems like a big jump compared to 370z

Enthusiasts should count their lucky stars that a car like this is still being made in 2022. In the end, there will be 50 units of this car sold in Canada per year because enthusiasts in real life only buy new high-end sport cars (e.g P-cars/M-cars) or they're cheap and try to buy cars at the bottom of their depreciation curve 15 years from now.

Nissan needs to continue to sell junk like the Rogue to the masses in order to make the Z car viable.

68style 05-19-2022 10:10 AM

I don't consider it all that lucky when they're as meh as the Z has turned out...

GR86/BRZ on the other hand... affordable and great driving... and fast for what it is now with the new engine

Yeah, the BRZ/GR86 is probably the best sports car today for plebs. But having options in the market is better, which is why this car on the market, despite being on a last-gen platform, is a good thing for enthusiasts.

Are these things out yet? Or maybe I saw a press car, it was the yellow colour one.

EDIT: apparently Z-Fest was in Missisauga at Nissan HQ on August 7th, so probably this yellow one in the 2nd picture here.

They’ve started deliveries in the USA, not sure about Canada

68style 08-22-2022 07:42 PM

You can't even build one on the Nissan Canada website yet

AzNightmare 08-23-2022 03:14 AM

Welp, that didn't take long.

68style 08-23-2022 06:00 AM

I would be much more interested in this car, but I’ve read so many bad things about the engine and it’s turbos failing etc

Badhobz 08-23-2022 09:17 AM

this wont sell all that well in this economy. They should have brought the s16 to fight against the BRZ/GR86 crowd instead of going up and slotting between the bmw supra pricing.

As in, the engine failing in the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport?

JDMDreams 08-23-2022 11:22 AM

I would buy if they had 0% 96mth loan, can't afford to throw cash like you FeelsBadMan

Sorry my grammar is poor in that sentence... lots of turbo problems... not outright engine failures.

radeonboy 08-23-2022 04:32 PM

Pricing just south of the border :lawl:

Is that Bellevue Nissan?

Whoever the dealer is, they are dreaming if they think anyone would be stupid enough to pay a USD $74k market adjustment -- esp when it is on a $55k MSRP car lol~

Sticker says Bellevue Nissan in WA so I assume as such, and $130k puts it just under lightly-used GT4 territory lol

westopher 08-25-2022 08:43 AM

I saw a 2016 gt4 with 25k on it listed for 106k on FB just a couple hours ago.
