Talk to Trudy (she's out of Maple Ridge)

Their work is awesome. Any bookkeeper who can book-keep daytrading gain/losses and treat them correctly + fill out a depreciation schedule is legit in my books.

Not the cheapest but you will save $ on the year end accounting side...

Can refer one more if needed in broadway cambie area.

A1 doors Surrey. They're cheap and have good quality products. One of my Surrey boys told me about the place and they have been solid.

My window blinds are getting quite old so I need to get them repaired, possibly replaced.
Anyone dealt with a good blinds company and at responsible price? I'll likely need them to replaced the blinds in the entire house.

https://www.wholesaleblindfactory.com/

We've used them twice for faux wood blinds and roller shades. You can either install them yourself, or pay them to install them for you.

Very fair prices for the quality you get.

So many people try to sell used faux wood blinds on FB marketplace. I wAnder if there is a way to shorten bigger ones to fit cuz often times people give them away for free or $10 a piece.

FYI there's a new grant for product based businesses. Some of you guys may be business owners in here so I figured I'd let you guys know.

The BC Gov is offering a marketing grant up to 75% of expenses covered (up to $7500 aka 10K of marketing for $2500) for people who own legitimate (registered) product based businesses. There are a few requirements but one of which is that you have to partner with a BC service provider (ie. marketing agency).

Full disclaimer: I own a marketing agency, but I'm all about helping those in my circle. Feel free to DM with questions.

^ I'll add a bit to this. It's a grant for businesses who want to setup an e-commerce or online shopping platform. You have to hire a BC based company to help, and it can be for web development, marketing, or other related services. The project must be completed within 12 weeks and meet certain criteria in order to qualify for a grant of 75% of expenses, up to $7,500.

If you can meet the criteria and find someone who can work on that timeline, it's not a bad deal at all. Free gov't money is always good.

Tbh I get what they're trying to do. But the requirement of BC manufactured / sourced product is pretty dumb. For the most part there are very few companies left that source locally. That said, what if it's a BC retail store that sources it's products from a BC wholesaler, that sources it's product from China?

Guess we'll find out when launch online gets back to me

I didn't see anything that says you have to be a company that sells a product sourced or manufacturered in BC (assuming that's what you mean)?

Only just that you have to used a BC-based vendor to help you build and/or market the e-commerce platform.

Anyone who works with wood working or wood carving? I'm looking for simple wooden pieces, kind of like wooden planks, and possibly custom carving a name into the wood. Want to order in larger quantity like 50+

I had a couple of Korean guys come to me and helped me make custom trays with circles in them to hold shooter glasses, but that was over a decade ago and I lost their contact.

Need some recommendations from you peeps

1) Someone to clean roof + clean the exterior to prep for paint
2) Someone to paint the exterior (I want to do a colour change)
2) Someone to replace skylight to ones that open up for air flow at the same time give the roof a once over to check if things need resealing
3) Someone to repaint my cabinet doors or replace the doors (Need to weigh the cost of each option). I went to Ikea and none of their measurements match my current ones

Looking for a wedding photographer.
There's a rather large photolab thread and some people here have some real talent.
Anyone do weddings or have a referral to someone?

These guys did my wedding and I was beyond happy with their service, their creativity and the end result. Great people, not a big formulaic wedding photography shop with dozens of photographers that you don't know who you're going to get until the day of the wedding. They will talk to you to get to know you, what your vision is, and how to make your shots more personal.
