BJ just completely annihilated Orioles in 3rd....:fuckyea:

MG1 09-12-2021 10:41 AM

You'd think a 16-3 lead would be enough........... Blue Jays' pitcher gives up a solo homer. I was going to say, no hitter on this planet would give up that many runs, lol.

Tomorrow's game against the Tampa Bay Rays is going to be challenging to say the least. Tampa Bay is on a whole new level. Good thing Jays won't be facing teams like the San Fransisco Giants or the LA Dodgers. So, 3 game series against Tampa Bay, then a three game series starting on Friday against Minnisota. Immediately afterwards a 3 game series against the division leading Tamps Bay Rays again, but in Tampa. After all that, a 4 game series with Minnisota and a 3 game series against the big, bad Yankees. Last three games of the season is a 3 game home stand to end the season with none other than the Baltimore Orioles.

If The Jays can hang with the Tampa Bay Rays, they have what it takes to go onto the World Series.

Let's go, Blue Jays!

MG1 09-12-2021 10:49 AM

Holy vas deferens, Blue Jays keep pouring it on.

For reference............ there is no, no mercy rule in baseball.

Jays broke a record that has stood the test of time till this series. Since 1901, no team has scored more runs in a four inning span. 27 runs. Obscure record, for sure, but in the history books nonetheless.

With such a big lead, the Jays can afford to rest some players. Bullpen getting much needed rest in preparation against the Rays. Want to see Vladdy get another one. Good thing he's a DH.

MG1 09-12-2021 01:03 PM

Not Blue Jays related, but history in the making.

https://www.mlb.com/video/max-scherz...aculate-inning

Why stop there? 3000 strike outs coming up for Scherzer. Not too many pitchers get close to that. Right now at 2999.

The game is on Sportsnet..........

MG1 09-13-2021 04:39 PM

Pineapple Express starts off the 4 run 4th inning. Manoah has that really dirty slider. So much movement.

Ji Man Choi............. balk choi.

MG1 09-13-2021 05:00 PM

Holy Darth Maul, 7-0 Jays. They keep pouring it on. Manoah might pitch all 9 innings. Getting 30 minutes rest between innings. Has any team in MLB run out of pitchers? LOL.

MG1 09-13-2021 05:14 PM

Vladdy Jr. gets one more home run than the old man............ pops be proud, man. 113+ MPH off the bat line drive out of the park. 45 runs this season, so far. 22 year old.

Dayuuuummmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn...............

Eddie Mathews with 47, Joe DiMaggio with 46, and Johnny Bench with 45 Vladdy tied with 45. How many games left? It doesn't get any better than this. Jays breaking all kinds of records this season.

Liquid_o2 09-14-2021 07:25 AM

Jays can break all the records they want - but if they don't make an impact in the post season, I feel like it could be a real let down. After all, it will be tough to keep this group together as guys like Bichette and Vladdy are on cheap deals.

MG1 09-14-2021 09:00 AM

It would be a shame if they didn't make an impact in the post season, but I love this team because of the players and how they love playing the game. The journey they've gone through, being homeless for nearly two years. They kept positive and kept believing in each other.

It's been a wild ride, too. Love it.

The wheels might fall off at any moment. Always prepared for that.......... I used to be a Canucks fan, Gulolol.

Liquid_o2 09-14-2021 09:40 AM

I can only imagine what record they could have had if they played the entire year out of Toronto.

Remember this series against the Twins if the Jays don't make the playoffs :rukidding:

MG1 09-25-2021 03:08 PM

Congratulations, New West's own, Justin Morneau.

Unfortunate BJ's couldn't get into wild card play. What crazy ending to the AL season, down to the final game of the season.

Vansterdam 10-03-2021 05:35 PM

a 4 way tie for the wild card wouldof been nuts

:tears:

was a great season. as a typically casual MLB fan (and jays fan) i usually watch some jays in 30's and try to keep a basic eye on the league.

i watched more innings of baseball this year than in the last 5. This is such a young & exciting team.

Desperately hoping they can keep most of these guys next year. They're going to be hungry as hell - and I already can't wait for next season.

Really hope all this shit is behind us next year so we can get to the "western canada home stand" in seattle.

mb_ 10-03-2021 10:35 PM

Valiant effort for the season, was really great to see how far they've come in the last few seasons but still room for improvement especially with the bullpen

Hectic last month for the AL wildcard spot, almost had a potential for a 4 way tie! Also was rooting for Mariners to make the playoffs for the first time in god knows how long

pastarocket 10-04-2021 08:05 AM

IMO, the Jays need to upgrade their bullpen if they want to make it to the post season next year.

Their relief pitchers have blown too many games instead of getting the saves this season.

If there was one sport that I think should revamp their season and playoff format, it's MLB. (Right now, 3 division leaders get in and 2 wildcards.)

1. reduce the number of meaningless regular season games ... ridiculous how many games they play. (162 down to say 130 ... even then, it's ridiculous).

2. increase number of teams into playoffs ... maybe like NHL, 8 teams on each side (AL and NL). Maybe top 2 teams in each division get in plus 2 wildcards. Afterall, playoff baseball is more exciting and that's when people actually watch, and stadiums are filled, you can charge more for tickets, etc. Split some of the revenue for the playoff games around the league (for the lost of 30 games in the season = 15 home games).

Totally MLB playoff format is the dumbest thing. I feel bad for so many teams every year because you know they deserve a chance and are a "playoff team" just not under the dumb format they aren't. Wasn't the wild card like sort of new too and it was even worse before?
