Dim Jim too dim to think of bargain vets like above .. he will offer $6M/yr for 4 years to Suter. No trade and no move as signing bonus.

Surprised to see no reactions to the unveiling of Abbotsford Canucks here. They definitely got hijacked by the unveiling of the Giants new 3rd's

I like the Johnny Canuck logo for the Abbotsford team jerseys. Good choice.

These seem like the perfect kind of players that will get a big juicy contract from Benning and then either their production tanks or their health tanks.

I'd be really excited if JB tried to get Suter and Parise on cheap short term contracts since they got bought out. These veterans who have something to prove would be great addition, we could use the D and the F.

Suter would be a good bottom pair with Edler. 10-15min a game for those 2 will keep them fresh and healthy. They both can still be effective in special situatuons. But of course they both have to sign for cheap. Hyman could be a solid middle 6 but anything over 3.5/yr should be a big NO

The agent confirmed that he is gonna test free agency (i.e. see if he can get a better offer elsewhere compared to what the Canucks are offering). There is still a chance that if he doesn't receive an offer he likes that he circles back to the Canucks.

Sounds like he wants to experience FA for once in his career. Be sad if he leaves but I feel he is on a short list of players that should have another shot at the cup again.

Good for him, i actually dont want to see him back tbh. Its time for someone else to take that 3rd pairing spot on the left side.

Time to sign Suter for cheap. Can't just fill spots with inexperienced players. That's the Oilers approach lol

I'd take suter over him. But does Suter want to come here?
I bet he would probably sign with Colorado or something.
Without Edler, Schmidt might take over the left side behind Hughes. OJ or Rathbone for the 3rd pair. Right side is just Myers... haha

JB announcing about going after big names may attract guys like Suter to sign for cheap?? Also doesn't Schmidt want a trade out of here?

I wouldnt mind trading Schmidt for a RHD and signing Suter for cheap to fill out the left side with Hughes and Rathbone but i feel like theres no reason for Suter to ever sign in Vancouver unless we are the only ones offering him a contract, which i doubt

i'm just excited to see what happens. this is likely JB's last shot before getting canned (if the team doesn't do well), so i expect relatively big changes... but then he's handcuffed with the existing contracts. guy's gotta work some magic.

^ more likely that he gets canned. I don't think even 2x GM of the year, Lou Lamoreillo can get out of the hole that JB dug over the past 4 years.

I’ve been reading so many articles about how hard he’s working every single angle right now… but as usual I don’t see any results.
I’ll eat crow if he proves me wrong but I’m not going to hold my breath.
