Yah, Oilers still living the dream of Gretzsky and Messier days, jut get 2 superstars and everything will work itself out. But back then, the rest of the roster performed too ... and they had Grant Fuhr!

What a difference between now and then.
Messier wasn't even a big points guy actually... Coffey and Kurri were always ahead of him.

What an absolute disaster not doing everything in your power to sign Markstrom
Like fuck, even give him term to lessen the cap hit and just pray it works out. Friedman on the radio today was like yeap, after goal 1 I felt like the game was lost

I watched the whole EDM FLA game... they didn't even play bad, they outshot FLA more than 2 to 1... got unlucky on a bunch of bounces and chances... but their defense is shit, they back in against attacking forwards, giving guys like Barkov all day to snipe from the hashmarks... and in their own zone the forwards aren't moving their feet, just reaching with sticks. Took stupid penalties too.
Koskinen was neither terrible or great. 3 of the goals were scored in the last 5 minutes of the game.

But maybe in some ways, this is actually a double edge sword when you have 2 of the best players in the league. Gotta give them what they're worth.. but it might jeopardize building a complete team. Shut down 2 guys and the whole team folds.

If you asked me, should have traded Nugent-Hopkins when his stock was high for a goalie. If only they went all in for Markstrom.
