That's it ... 'all new"? Man, they need to hire some better designers ... It looks 'all old'. Subaru is still betting on brand loyalty from the mid 2000's. 2006-7 was the last good looking Subaru that they made! |
Those fenders are from the Lexus UX parts bin eh /s The new Impreza came out like two years ago and it took them this long to slap in an engine from its older brothers and the infotainment from the Legacy... I think they forgot to put on the Wilderness Edition badging Kappa |
Well that’s a big ol’ facepalm |
The black cladding doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would look… but I wonder how it will do vs. The sun and if it will fade or not … Give it some time.. I think it will grow on you lol (which seems to be the trend with subarus). |
I think the most exciting thing here is the fact they are using the FA24, it means tuning potential for not only the WRX but for the rest of the Subbie lineup. Quote:

Lol what did you guys expect from Subaru, coming to more girls and see lais near you, every time I see a girl drive a WRX :notbad: but then I remembered they are all cvts:rukidding: |

Just be happy it results in more of these cars being around. True "Purists" are a dying breed. All of the other "purists" have just moved the goalposts. Autos replacing manuals, drive by wire replacing drive by cable, acronym soup for safety features (let alone things like ABS, traction control, stability control, etc). |
https://i.imgur.com/uj1iRDF.jpg :ohgodwhy: I didn't mind anything else too much in the design but....this rear bumper has got to go. It seems they raised the suspension on the WRX and added body cladding for a more rugged/off-road look. New STi I would imagine would have all the plastic painted and have a lower ride height. |
Speed bumps and parking lot ramps / underground entrances are becoming steeper and sharper so raising it is beneficial. |
That base infotainment centre.. holy hell lol. |
They obviously are focusing more on a "rally" look. The wheel arches just look hideous. Not to mention them not being round just makes them worse. How long before aftermarket companies start offering widebody fender flares? At least now you don't have to do permanent bodywork to swap it. Then you can colour match them too. The car really looks "lifted" with the black arches and the black side skirt. :heckno: |
what is up with that swim platform on the rear?! Is it for crash reasons? |
The back looks like a civic:lawl: |
Dat's an ass you could stack books on right thur |
I really hope thats just the angle. That right there is a thicccc rear end and not in a flattering way. |
People complained the FK8 was ugly. Here Subaru comes, "Hold me beer" |

hawkeye ugh tribeca grille hatch wow had too many doughnuts 2011 4-door rear looks like a corolla 2015 evo x copycat i think it came pretty close to the concept and will look good in sti form https://cdn.motor1.com/images/mgl/Vw...ti-concept.jpg |
What in the crystal meth is that tumour looking thing sticking out of the rear bumper on the new WRX??? I am also not a fan of the unpainted body panels. That is a copy from the base model pickup trucks or SUV's playbook. If you upgrade to the STI, then do they paint them? |
Those unpainted fenders are really reminding me of 2007. The MK5 GTi. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fda612ea69.jpg Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk |

Man do I ever miss my hawkeye WRX but like someone said there's always criticism whenever a new model debuts but then it's aftermarket companies to the rescue |

In case people don't remember how a crosstrek looks like: https://cdn.jdpower.com/ChromeImageG...03_640_SS2.jpg It's literally why they infused all that black cladding on the WRX to make it look like a lifted crossover. |
The more I look at it the uglier it gets - clearly they've decided that there's a more exciting demo to target that's focused on SUV like cars and that the WRX fits into that strategy. Why else would they mention that there's more ground clearance and add so much cladding? |
