To be fair, most sti’s end with a bang

Wasn’t there a special edition S209 a couple years back? Almost a send-off, years in advance…

They do an “s20X” every generation to my knowledge, but this was the first time with the s209 that shipped around the world. I think all the s205-206 etc were Japanese only

A guy recently took his 2013 crosstrek and swapped in an entire 2018 STi. I’m talking motor, drivetrain, subframes, interior (Seats dash door cards headliner etc) and virtually the ENTIRE project was bolt on.

You mean to tell me that with almost no additional R&D Subaru could've been selling us a Crosstrek STi THE WHOLE DAMN TIME?

I'm sure they're engineers could make all kinds of cool stuff with off the shelf parts. The challenge is getting it emission certified and messing with their average fuel economy. Subaru doesn't seem to have trouble selling all the crosstreks they make as is so why bother?

Saw a dealer on the island that had a orange one on the lot. The cladding still seems odd in person.

So dip into the STi production numbers or don't give it the full STi power. Give it a WRX engine and all the other STi bits or something so it's at least vaguely quick.

only a tiny percentage were buying turbo foresters

the last time that had a manual was 14 years ago BabyRage

^^ there’s an ~05 forester XT Manual in WRB I see in Richmond. Looks stunning, it’s an enthusiasts dream! ~50yo asian woman driving it just like a normal car. Hopefully when she eventually sells it gets into the hands of an enthusiast (maybe she is a secret enthusiast)

So many grannies and grandpas driving cars that look like enthusiasts cars. I wonder how many are driving what their kids left behind when they went elsewhere for work and can't be bothered to get something else.

100% anecdotal, but I'm sure it was no mistake when these seniors bought their cars like a manual XT or whatever. I came across an ICU nurse out in Delta a number of years ago who drove a manual XT and was selling it and found out she and her husband were original owners. They were probably in their late 50s if not early 60s and they probably grew up driving manual cars. It was a well-sorted car but we couldn't agree on a price that made us both happy.

Subaru Forester was voted the #1 car for lesbians in a lifestyle magazine a number of years back :)

I also enjoy eating cooter, so maybe I should get one

You don't have enough facial hair to pull it off
