Priorities! I’ve seen numerous rich dudes in Richmond drive Ferraris while still living in a 1 bedroom - 2 bedroom condo near the oval. Sometimes just yolo it.

If only you could get a 911 on student loans now........

Everyone should post pics of their OG ride and what they have now. It’ll be interesting to see.

Probably need to start a new thread for this

Just got a new car since the used market was bonkers last year when someone totaled the RSX-S. I'd say it's equally as fun as the S2000. It's manual, active exhaust and the seats glow up.

I'm so close to becoming a DINK and just yoloing in a condo forever. To move to a detached, I have to make $350 - 500K a year to qualify + save heavily for a down then pay $8 - 10K mortgage for 25 years lol. Lets just finance a Ferrari for $3k/mo instead, probably more happy.

Badhobz 05-10-2022 06:26 AM

The ferrari is good on paper.... you think you'll be happy

BUT

you wont be happy when you service the F car (after the 8 year free maintenance) or pay for the insurance, or parking it, or really even driving it as any F car over 10,000kms is considered high mileage. Plus they'll still depreciate and eventually go down to the 200k-300k range from the 450k that you paid for it.

If you have to pay for the F car monthly, i dont think you'll seriously enjoy it as you'll be too nervous to even drive it anywhere. its the MOFO's who pay for it by cash, drive everyday and into the ground, and not give a hoot. Thats the level of $$$ you need to be happy with ferrari ownership.

Oh and the wait list for an F8 tributo is ~2 years right now. Roma's orders are 1 year ish, and the superfast is superlong wait as well.

I thought about it.... then i recall my maserati experience and i just :QQ: better off with my toyota

TSW venoms. Srt just ripped them off.

68style 05-10-2022 11:59 AM

I feel like with likely bald tires on Venoms and an open diff you were actually stuck in that photo hahahah

westopher 05-10-2022 12:05 PM

Lol they were new tires but federal 595s are essentially the equivalent of good tires when bald. I spun my way out though, just gotta burn down to the pavement.

Hondaracer 05-10-2022 12:19 PM

One thing I’ll kind add for the people stressing about not having a cool car

Basically every single person I knew from HS who had a brand new/cool car are all complete duds now. So I wouldn’t fret about it lol

Federal 595s :ahwow:

Would you buy these again?

westopher 05-10-2022 12:29 PM

Lol I thought they sucked even when I was 17. I definitely have higher standards at 37.

Yeah, the one's who spent every paycheque financing one through highschool and college. They're now stuck with a 2013 335I or G37 200,000KM :okay:

hud 91gt 05-10-2022 12:49 PM

My first car was only 11 years old (1991 Ford Escort GT). It still stands as being the newest car I’ve ever owned, despite being $400. Lol.

Thank goodness I don't, that's why I hang out with you guys every day :alone:

Isn't the Firestone Indy 500 the budget sports tire now?

westopher 05-10-2022 02:33 PM

Linglong or westlakes. Also 595s are still around. I actually have Indy 500s on the e30 haha. They are pretty good, but I also didn’t want to have crazy sticky tires on a 33 year old 197hp 4 banger. There’s definitely a “too much grip” situation in a car like that when it comes to fun.

trollface 05-10-2022 03:15 PM

What model of Linglongs/Westlake?

Sailun atrezzo rs or whatever, Derek hates me for them but for the price I’m very happy. $150 each?

They look like ad08-r, like exactly. I’d love to see a lap comparison to see how the compounds stack up.

Bought a set of wheels. Got a free J spec Slick top C280 out of it. Cloth seats too! :lawl:

A lot of the local drift guys use to run Federal 595 like 10+ years ago due to their price. I ran a set of 595 RSR on my old Miata(s) in 2015/2016 and was pretty happy with price/performance. Pretty much out of the scene nowadays but would be curious what's the new budget UHP tire now in case I ever find time to do some events.
