I don’t think there is that many asians in NZ in general. Australia on the other hand (only really Sydney and Melbourne) is very much like Vancouver and they have the same problem with Chinese money ruining their RE market.

Plenty of the whites here getting their homes paid for by mommy and daddy's real estate investments. Basically, if you're born somewhere that your parents had enough to afford it, you'll be able to afford it. If they couldn't, you can't. That's the way it's set up.
