It's official. Danny has joined RB as their 3rd driver to handle testing, simulations and promotional events. I can't help but think this put stress on Checo and he'll have to up his game a bit more next season.

This definately puts Checo in a more difficult spot. You better believe they're going to be comparing laptimes. Plus, Daniel has a much better relationship with Max than I feel Max has with Checo.

I'm of the belief that Daniel never lost "it", just that the McLaren car never really suited him. I think in equal machinery he would be faster than Checo.

contracts tho. These guys aren't free agents.
Checo makes 18 mil + a season. And he's signed for 2023 and 2024. Would he walk away from that to join another team? All this guy has done is helped this team.
I'm not sure acquiring the rights to DR (who's actually being paid be Mclaren) has anything to do w Checo.
They get the publicity and positivity they badly need, and hopefully change the off season narrative.

Rental company probably do need to respond even just from a liability/insurance point of view, since the rental contract was under a different person, it wasn't Lewis who signed the dotted line.
