ICBC: No more license plate decals, policies can be renewed online! https://theprovince.com/news/local-n...7-1c86d57f8038 Per twitter: Will update OP as formal reports come out. |
Only renew and not get new plates? So no more tickets for obstructed decals? :troll: |
So you can be driving without insurance or expired insurance, and only those (police, bylaws) with the scanning equipment can determine if insurance is valid? Isn't this a loophole where abusers will abuse this lol |
only people checking now are cops anyways and they'll still have the ability to. i guess the ability to narc on someone is now gone. |
I was hoping BC would ditch the front plate :accepted: |
this is a big step i look forward to the day we can do other types of transactions online like move plates around. |
It's cheaper to get a no front plate ticket than obstructed plate :rukidding: Quote:

Congrats you dumb mother fuckers. The sticker doesn't mean jack. If someone is bold enough to drive with no insurance, it's not that hard to imagine someone peeling a sticker off a car at the mall. We get stickers stolen off our trucks ALLLLLL DAY. All the stickers did were keep brokers employed. I can renew my firearms license online using a selfie I made in the bathroom, somehow we cant figure out how to renew a drivers license using the internet. Weird how ICBC couldn't figure out how to turn a profit. I'm shocked. |
As said before I can’t wait for full online no need to go in or call and get the temporary insurance you print at home. |
ICBC always turned a MASSIVE profit... most of it off investment income actually, I knew people who worked as advisors who did nothing but invest ICBC's assets... they made hundreds of millions of dollars... but the Chrustie and the Liberal Party took all of that surplus and used it for her bottom line and bled them dry and some bad weather years ate up whatever was left. At home changes are, however, very welcome :) |

keep changing plates daily:troll::troll::troll::troll: |
Too bad there's a fee for doing that |

So either she was wrong or policy’s have changed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
Now the autoplan brokers/agents are out of a job except to issue new plates? Why does the cut in broker fee translate into? |
Double post :( |
https://i.redd.it/6hxhdjhu3sh11.jpg In the year 2000, you will be able to use the "internet" to renew your car insurance. |
I think as of last year there was a fee unless they changed it, it just comes out of any refunds if one cars insurance is cheaper than the other. I think it's around $30? Quote:
|
Yah I was pretty sure I was charged something like $28-30... but maybe it was situational to my particular cars involved or that they were on a payment plan or something. I didn't pay it right then and there, but it was on the list of things on the second paper. |
it's 28.00 to swap plates as mentioned - depending on the direction i go the insurance savings offset the cost (or double it going back) if you're on payment plans it all works out in some murky way that you might not notice. |
I feel less crazy now hahaha |
i swap my plates between my beater civic and the m3 all the time. The transfer fee is still way cheaper than getting day permits for $40/day |
Depends how long the plates stay on, if it's like a day or two not really worth it cuz it's $60 just for on and offFeelsBadMan |
I've been swapping my beater civic with my Stinger too. Way worth it to do that if I don't drive my Stinger for a week or more. |
