Only renew and not get new plates? So no more tickets for obstructed decals?

So you can be driving without insurance or expired insurance, and only those (police, bylaws) with the scanning equipment can determine if insurance is valid? Isn't this a loophole where abusers will abuse this lol

It's cheaper to get a no front plate ticket than obstructed plate

Parking bylaws check even more than cops, I see lots of tickets on my street when I look at the ticket it says it's for expired decal.

Congrats you dumb mother fuckers.

The sticker doesn't mean jack. If someone is bold enough to drive with no insurance, it's not that hard to imagine someone peeling a sticker off a car at the mall. We get stickers stolen off our trucks ALLLLLL DAY.

All the stickers did were keep brokers employed. I can renew my firearms license online using a selfie I made in the bathroom, somehow we cant figure out how to renew a drivers license using the internet.

Weird how ICBC couldn't figure out how to turn a profit. I'm shocked.

As said before I can’t wait for full online no need to go in or call and get the temporary insurance you print at home.

ICBC always turned a MASSIVE profit... most of it off investment income actually, I knew people who worked as advisors who did nothing but invest ICBC's assets... they made hundreds of millions of dollars... but the Chrustie and the Liberal Party took all of that surplus and used it for her bottom line and bled them dry and some bad weather years ate up whatever was left.

At home changes are, however, very welcome

Online temp insurance or plate swaps would be great. I'm not sure why they weren't trying to do that ages ago, I can only assume temp plates don't make them any money because I'm far more likely to get a temp plate if I can get it quick at home instead of spending more time going to the broker to get it than I'll be spending actually driving the car the next day.

But is there? I swapped insurance/plates from my RS to the STi, in and out pretty quick and she never charged me. I even asked at the end “is there a fee for transferring?” And she said “nope, have a good day!”

So either she was wrong or policy’s have changed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now the autoplan brokers/agents are out of a job except to issue new plates? Why does the cut in broker fee translate into?

In the year 2000, you will be able to use the "internet" to renew your car insurance.

I think as of last year there was a fee unless they changed it, it just comes out of any refunds if one cars insurance is cheaper than the other.

I think it's around $30?

Yah I was pretty sure I was charged something like $28-30... but maybe it was situational to my particular cars involved or that they were on a payment plan or something. I didn't pay it right then and there, but it was on the list of things on the second paper.

it's 28.00 to swap plates

as mentioned - depending on the direction i go the insurance savings offset the cost (or double it going back)

if you're on payment plans it all works out in some murky way that you might not notice.

i swap my plates between my beater civic and the m3 all the time. The transfer fee is still way cheaper than getting day permits for $40/day

Depends how long the plates stay on, if it's like a day or two not really worth it cuz it's $60 just for on and off

I've been swapping my beater civic with my Stinger too. Way worth it to do that if I don't drive my Stinger for a week or more.
