Maybe a stupid question I got out of watching baseball after the Jays won all their World Series, but why is Judge getting 61 and 62 such a big deal when Bonds and McGwire are both in the 70Â’s?
Judge is currently tied with Roger Maris for the American League record of 61 home runs.
Roger Maris' son was at the games at Rogers Centre during this Jays/Yankees series.
Bonds and McGwire hit more HRs because they were on the juice. Steroids. Cheaters.
All Rise for the Judge because this special player hit 61 home runs, so far, the right way, with no steroids, PEDs.
All I can say is that Judge is going to be a very rich man during free agency at the end of this season.
He bet on himself by turning down a 7 year, 200 million US offer from the Yankees.
200 million US will be chump change compared to what teams will offer to him as a free agent.
Yah I figured it had something to do with the asterisks on Bond and McGwire............. altho to be honest, lol, we don't know if they jut got better at hiding it nowadays. I think it's insane not to believe that tonnes of pro athlets are doping. NFL is full of roid m... oh.... that could come off racist. Roid ragers! lol
You still have to be a great hitter to hit the amount of homeruns Bonds and McGwire hit on roids, but it can't be disputed that they wouldn't have hit that many without the juice.
Baseball has been ruthless to a lot of great players over the years, once you're on the shit list you never get off it.
Tomorrow's game against Boston will still be important. Jays can dictate, somewhat, who they play. Home game advantage, then there's the Little Trop of Horrors, lol. Seattle would be nice, 'cause we can go watch a game or two and get beat up by the Mariners fans. Although, lots of Jays fans will be in attendance (safety in numbers) gulolololololol.
Watching Guardians/Raybies game. No Jays baseball today is killing me. Go, Cleveland, GO!!!
Wild finish............ Cleveland was behind, but came back and won it by one run. Top of 9th, Raybies had bases loaded with one out. Choi at plate...... he strikes out. Pitch count is over 30 and it looks like the pitcher is going to walk in a run. Nothing doing. Cleveland get it done. Raybies need one more win to get in...... not tonight.

Seattle was ahead by three runs and Texas comes up with two solo homers, including one by former Blue Jay, Marcus Semien. 7-6 for Mariners at the bottom of the seventh. Game is on Sportsnet WB (Shaw 202).
Damn, Asian Aaron Judge had a no hitter going into the 8th inning. Single hit spoils it. That Ohtani (big valley in Japanese) looks like a young boy in a man's body. He's as big as Aaron Judge. Pitches as well as he hits. And, he can run like the wind. Was pitching 99 mph fastballs in high school.
I usually don't watch games other than Blue Jays game, but so many interesting things going on...... did anyone notice Gerrit Cole's 2000th strikeout?
Anyway, it's tied 7-7 in Seattle.

For those who are wAndering about the new playoff structure, here's a pretty good article on the subject.
The really interesting part is that the wild card games - three of them, are all played in one city/ballpark. Even if Toronto faces Tampa Ray Bays and they are seeded higher, all three games between them will be held in Toronto. No games at the Little Trop of Horrors (absolutely the best scenario).
Remember that the Jays do not hold a series win record against Seattle or Tampa, so a tie is not a tie. They end up in a lower seed.
Anyway, Texas has a one run lead in extra innings. If Seattle doesn't get one at the bottom inning, they lose. Go, Rangers, GO!!!!!
What the hell am I going to do, once the World Series is won by the Blue Jays????
Watch the Canucks? Gulolol. Just kidding. The Canucks will make it to the post season this year.
UPDATE: Mariners win it bottom of the 11th inning. Runners on corners and no out. Dylan Moore hits a line drive to third baseman. He doesn't catch it (Matt Chapman would've) and they win. Oh well........... Mariners magic number is down to one. If the Jays had a choice, I think they are better off with Tampa rather than the Mariners. J-Rod will be back from the 10 day IL for the Mariners. Plus, there's Robbie Ray and a whole host of pretty darn good hitters..

At least we won’t face the Yankees till the last series. Cleveland would be a nice series. Astros. Don’t know much about them. Anyway, today’s game is a homer against the Boston Red Sox.

117 mph into the second deck homer by Vladdy. Is the guy timing it so he's on fire during the post season?
Much like Manoah's pitching. His fastballs are tame at the start of the game. By the end, he's at the 99 mph range.
Chapman has to get going............
Manufactured runs win games, though.
4-0 with Kirk on first and no outs at the bottom of the 3rd. Scratch that, Chapman just struck out, lol.
Awesome - A group of fans in attendance with a sign that reads, "Fiona Couldn't Keep These P. E. I. Fans Away Go Jays GO!" Blue Jays have the best fans in MLB. That's why they deserve every break they get. Other teams have fans who don't give two shits about their team.
Go, Jays, GO!!!

Rays and Mariners both clinch playoff spots. Jays up two games up on Rays, while they are 1-1/2 up on Seattle.
Seattle hadn't punched their way into the post season since 2001. A shitty all time MLB record they finally broke. Today's game was tied 1-1 until pinch hitter Cal Raleigh hits a walk off home run.
The Rays, damn them, 8 straight post season births.
Even though the Astros lost to the Rays today, they finished atop the AL. Home field advantage for all AL series. World Series home field advantage, if it gets to that, goes to LA Dodgers for having the best record in all of MLB.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Ray's like the As? Spend minimal, never sign anyone expensive, trade away players as soon as they get valuable? Pretty freaking impressive to consistently put out a decent club.

9-0 at bottom of 8th. This game could have been easily 15-0.
The Jays did beat up the same team 28 - something. Then beat them again by 11 runs. 19 games winning streak or something......... Boston must hate facing the Jays.
Must say .. in MLB for ~150 games of the season, it's boring as hell but then once it gets close to the playoffs sand if your team is in it ... it's friggin electric, off the charts ... especially since this is the only Canadian team.

I've only watched a few episodes of Blue Jays Central, 'cause I barely make it home to watch the game. I have the games recorded. Some really good stuff about the players and prospects. Today's story was about Spencer Horwitz. Come to think of it, we are pretty lucky in that the Vancouver Canadians are one of the affiliate team in the Blue Jays organization. Manoah, manager Schneider, Cavan Biggio, Tim Mayza, Ryan Borucki, and other great players were all Vancouver Canadians at one point. Just set the PVR to record, Blue Jays Central.
Hope the Jays sweep the Red Sox today. Last home game of the season. Three games away after that, vs Orioles (another team easy to dislike, lol). Hopefully, they don't play spoilers.
Oh, Mabel Hays wearing purple today. Looking good. She looks horrible in yellow, btw. She looks like something from the Richmond Night market. Good to see Hernandez respect the Barrio Jacket. Hanging it up nicely. Unlike Kirk, who threw the thing in the dugout after he hit a homer. Since that day, the Jays went on a home run drought. Respect your stuff and it will treat you right. /sermon.
Makes sense now........... Gausman had something going on. Throwing a slider to the heart of the plate that resulted in those two Boston Red Sox runs. He's now out of the game. This will throw a wrench in the plans for Pete Walker, the pitching coach. Zach Pop in to replace Gausman. Pop is another one of those hot or not pitchers........... actually more not than hot, gulolol. Look at Kikuchi. Wasn't so Yuseless during the last on the mound performance.
Go, Jays, GO!!
Woah................ nice catch behind the back by Pop.
Tampa Ray Bays are behind 2-0 so far against the Astros. If Jays win today and Bays lose, Toronto can drop the Trop from their post season schedule.

Fullshit!!!!!!
Further evidence that Doug Eddings, the umpire, has it in for the Blue Jays. Red Sox player at plate went around and Eddings called it no strike. Okay, no problem........ then at the 8th inning a fly ball is hit out to center field. The ball was caught and umpire closest to the play, and crew chief ffs, called it a catch - hitter is out. However, Doug Eddings, the cunt who hates the Jays, overturns the call. Jays then challenge the call. NY agrees with Eddings. WTF? Plain as the sun is bright, all replays show the ball was in the glove. I really, really hope this is not a sign of things to come. Americans hate the World Series leaving their country. Look, you damn yankees, it's called the, "WORLD," series. America is not the world. /rant.
Eddings waiting for an excuse to change the outcome of the game. Well, asshole, the baseball gods made things right. Play right after the Eddings call turned out to be a double play to end the inning.
YAY!!!!! All post season games this year will be Canadian. Sportsnet will be covering it. This is huge!!!!!!!
Saw that coming from a kilometre away. Vladdy didn't empty the cooler on Whit Merrifield. He walks away and Hazel, thinking she was safe, got doused. No chance to prance away......... great ending to a sweep of the Red Sox. 25 runs in the three games. Please, no injuries, stay safe.

3.8 million dollars. Buck Martinez got to make the call. Sounds like it was a husband and wife.
Jays ahead 3-1 bottom of the 4th. Good thing they're playing in Baltimore. Jays fans heckle him all the time, and for good reason. He took a punch at fan favourite José Bautista.
Berrios was the starting pitcher today. He got pulled. That guy is either very good or totally shitty. Nothing in between. Anyway, he only gave up one - damage adverted. EDIT: My bad, he was still in the game. He survived a shitty third inning. Mayza just came into the game - 7th inning.
Magic number for the Jays to get home game advantage in the wild card series is 2. 2 outright wins or one win by Jays and one loss by Seattle.
Whit Merrifield....... probably the only batter on the Jays team who knows how to bunt. Perfect bunt just now and throw goes past the first baseman. Merrifield has been the AL hit leader twice in a row. He can run and he can field. He is pretty happy to be with the Jays, instead of being stuck with the KC Royals - a team going nowhere. Missed the playoffs every year since winning the World Series in 2015. Jays are up 4-1 - the last run was all Merrifield and his running. Stole home plate on a wild pitch. Damn.
Fucking hell....... that evil ump, Eddings, is in todays gamel. It's raining pretty hard. The game is past the 5th inning, so this game can be called and the Jays would win. I think a tornado has to hit the park before Eddings give the Jays a win. Hopefully no player is injured due to slippery conditions.

Today's game is rained out. Double header tomorrow starting at 12:30 EST, 9:30 am our time.
Yesterday's game was called due to rain. Since the game went past the 5th inning with the Jays leading 5-1, they get the win. Detroit beat the Mariners yesterday, so things are falling into place.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!
The game in Boston is about to start, but it looks like the rain is coming down hard. THey're going to play, but I feel this may get called, as well. Tampa needs to win and Boston is going to spoil it, hee hee. Friday is the start of the post season. These teams need to play their last two games before then. Will have to see how the league handles this, if weather does not cooperate.

Yup, Jays fans get to watch all three wild card games from TO. No need to risk any kind of injury.
Thanks, Mariners.................... or should we say, Texas.
