One way trip, car won't be there when you come out lol
Lol, I know it's ghetto but it isn't that bad. I've lived here since 89, I know one person who had his Honda Civic stolen in 1997 other than that myself or nobody I know has ever had their vehicle stolen. Probably more likely to get caught up in some cross fire.

- Apparently over 50 mins of Top Gun were filmed to support it and it looks FUCKING AWESOME in this format.
I caught Top Gun at Brentwood VIP last night and it's a great movie - lots of fan service (you'll love the nods to the past especially the opening) and the aerials are fantastic. Definitely going to catch it a couple more times in the theatre.
In related news I found out that the IMAX in Victoria (biggest screen in Canada) has no plans to show Hollywood movies before they shut down in the fall.
It's a life safety item and is required to mark the exit locations in the theatres. And larger theatres that fit more people require more exits, thus more illuminated exit signs.
Some theatres retrofit shields to help with reflection on screens or completely hide them altogether after the fact, so long as it passed the initial occupancy inspection.

Top Gun is sooo good, but is it a covid thing or what? Last two cineplex I've been to, they don't have the hvac on, and the air is stale and everyone's sweating + the BO ugh (like the air isn't circulating at all) by the end of a movie its like a sauna in there
I used to go watch a movie almost every month at the theatre. I've been to two movies since the pandemic in the theatre, don't really miss it and no real reason to go back unless there is something I really want to see badly. Probably just end up sucking it up on Christmas Eve as that's something we always do but other than that, fuckem.
My teenager never asks to go to the movies, growing up that's what we did for fun. I predict in 10 years we have maybe 2 or 3 theatres left in the lower mainland.

Slightly off topic but since this thread was started b/c of Top Gun...
Top Gun:Maverick is showing at IMAX Victoria for the next 3 weekends (Thurs-Sun). IMAX Victoria is the biggest screen in BC (3rd biggest in Canada) measuring 61'x84' versus the Cineplex ones which are 53'x70'. It also uses multiple digital projectors for higher quality.
I want to go bad but I can't make my schedule quite work and a hotel room is running $200/night right now.
