TRT will change your life if you have low T. For a while I thought I had cancer or something, I felt so shitty all the time. And my mood.. fuck. Got tested, was low, got on TRT and it made life livable again. If you're approaching 40, and think you might feel crappy for no apparent reason (so not like CivicBlues), get that shit tested. A dude with low T is basically PMSing non stop.

Strippers asking me how old i am getting a lap dance i feel like collagen is bullshit since there really hasn't being any real studies on it and way too expensive. like $40 a container. supposedly good for joints too but i stopped buying it years ago.

Also doesn't help that collagen smells like jizz.

I usually go for full blood work every 8 months or so but wouldn’t mind paying for some advanced testing | Just ask your doctor or walk in clinic doc. Tell him/her you want to have your testosterone tested, say you have low libido. Job done, you'll get a req to get tested with Lifelabs, no charge.
Only thing that sucks is that they only test your Test, not Free Test (you'd have to pay for that).

Seems like there's a fair amount of risk with it too? | Injections, once per week. Going on 7 years now? As for risk, it depends on what you mean by "fair amount". If you're taking levels to get you to normal, it's not very risky. But it's a drug, and all drugs have some risk. It's part of why I take coq10 and arjuna and fish oil - these all help with heart health. I used to exercise a lot but fell off during covid and am finding it hard to get back on that horse...

Gel and injection have similar efficacy, although you absorb more via injections, the gel is more expensive and you have to be somewhat cognizant of cross contamination with your spouse (not a major concern though, you'd have to be hugging them soaking wet with the gel).
If you're a man over 35 I'd always recommend getting your test checked.
The risk from being on TRT is the fact that you'll likely have to stay on in perpetuity, you might also need to regulate your estrogen if that's a factor (depending on the TRT dose and your body).

Sorry for reviving this thread. Anyone tried CBD for their chronic pain? Does it work?

Fish oil does fuck all IMHO, if anything I found it detrimental to my gut health (and I had used it for years).
I've heard Krill Oil helps for joint support, but haven't tried it. Honestly most of this stuff does fuck all, I've found zero impact of supplementing multi-vitamins over the years.
Hate to say it but the best way to avoid joint issues when getting older is to change your workout style. Lower the weight a bit and focus more on activating the muscle slowly, lower the amount of fast twitch/explosive lifts. Pivoting that style has worked wonders on my knees and elbows from lifting all the time.
Considering jumping on the TRT bandwagon soon here as well, currently 37 turning 38 in May. | You're 39 now, did you end up getting on dat dere TRT?

CBD helps me with my back pain. I can't imagine life without it, actually.
Releaf, the clinic where I take my CBD, says in their post on medical cannabis for chronic pain that CBD can increase the production of anandamide, which is a chemical associated with pain regulation. Anandamide is believed to reduce the feeling of pain and improve mood.
That said, you should consult with your doctor if you want to start taking it.

I have another testosterone test next week to see where I'm at, my last test (6 months ago) had me on the upper threshold, so no point supplementing yet.
Keep these balls running as long as I can.

Keep these balls running as long as I can. | Do you go to your family doctor or like a private clinic like Dr Pollock?

My doctor is pretty chill as well, if I told him my peepee wasn't working right, he'd probably prescribe me testosterone. If he wouldn't, I'd just go to Polo Health: https://www.polohealth.com/about/team/steven-blyth/
Dr. Blyth will prescribe for a cost (I believe $300).
If you can go that route, it's far better than procuring your stuff on the black market.

Just said I want the typical full blood work plus testosterone
She kinda probed me into why I wanted it (honestly just give me what I’m asking for) so I said typical shit tired low sex drive etc. in order her to prescribe it for me although wasn’t true.
38 and still looks fine

Hold out as long as you can.
Once you're on it, you're pretty much on it for life.

I suspect my hypogonadism was caused by a head injury I suffered when I was around 16. Nobody ever saw the need to look into it when I'd bring it up, it's just a feeling I have. I started therapy in my late 30's but I probably should have done it much sooner, like late 20's at most. Like I said earlier in this thread, I thought there was something seriously wrong with me considering how bad I felt. It helped a lot, but there's still other issues that it can't.
If I could sue the fucker I might have looked into it more, but whatever. Just have to live with it. People have it much worse

Only thing that sucks is that they only test your Test, not Free Test (you'd have to pay for that). | What's the pros of testing for free test vs regular test at lifelabs? I've done the life labs one and from what I saw my range was lower end of the band.
Have mega low energy, sleep all the time despite getting 9-12 hours of sleep, maybe I have cancer.

Free test you have to pay for, it's around $100 I believe.
Free test = the test that actually matters. You can have higher test but low free test, and on the inverse low test, but a higher average free test.
It's all quite complicated, but overall your free test levels are more important than the overall amount of test.

The past 3 months due to "a-lot" of stress & anxiety (not sleeping well, eating unhealthy, limited exercising etc.), feels like my testosterone level isn't as what it used to be. Used to wake up with morning wood few times a week, now I noticed barely even once a week. The sex-drive is there, but noticed the endurance during sex is cut in half before I finish. Do you guys just go get blood test done to see your testosterone levels are at?

Yup that's my process, like I said just setup a virtual appointment with your doctor or on TELUS Health, they'll send the req to Lifelabs, you can then go to any location and get your test done.
Results will be available online. All free.

It is a big step, it is life long treatment. Don't make the decision willy-nilly.
But if you need it, you need it. People can live fine without it - they have for centuries. But it can make a difference.
It's not always permanent (at least not if you're on it for very long), but it's kind of a pain to get off. You'd probably feel worse than ever for a while before you go back to where you were before
