Now, rest Gausman and everybody else. Make that Trevor Richards pitch all 9 innings tomorrow. Until his arm drops off............. Actually, home field advantage? This is so complicated. |
Shi Dividi a little calmer now............... I think it was him that was criticizing the decision to have whatshisnuts pitch two innings in the end. |
Now that the Jays are in, it comes down to who and where. Tropicana Field aka Little Trop of Horrors, hasn't been kind to the Jays, but a lot of their players live in that area. Buck included. Dunedin, the training grounds, is also nearby. Target Field in Minnesota looks like a nice place. I'm pretty sure it, being closer to Canada, would mean more Jays fans. Haven't been following the Twins all that much. Maybe they're a better opponent to face? In any case, starting lineup will most likely be Gausman, Berrios, and Assbitt........... in no particular order. If they do squeak by whoever they play, that means Kim Chi and Wasabi are up next? Hmmmmmm............... Too bad Manoah isn't in the picture. Or is he????? I have this strange feeling Davis Schneider and the noobs from the Bisons might make a huge difference in the post season. You know what's worse than being a Jays' fan? A Mariners fan.......... brutal. Loss like that at home to oust them from the post season. Couldn't have happened to a nicer team. :troll: wouldn't be saying that 14 hours ago. thank you baseball gods. |
Damn, totally forgot about Jay Jackson. I love that guy. Wes Parson is today's starter. Announcement made prior to the game. It's awesome that all games are now starting at the same time. In game trackers, ftmfw! As a side note. Alek Manoah is no more. He's done. Sad............ will only see him on Mary Brown's commercials, lol. |
Damn........... Parsons having a bad start. He's in there to get some innings in, to save the bull pen. Now he makes a poor play. Should have tagged the runner out at home plate. Potential for 6 or more runs and it's only the second inning. He's in there for a few more innings no matter what. Not looking good at all for the Jays. Loaded bases with no outs and 4-0 score. Did I say 6 or more runs? It's now 8-0. Grand slam by the Rays. Good news is, there's nobody on the bases, lol. Keep Parsons in there. Might as well. after 11-0 Jays can put a position player in to pitch, lol. There's no way the Jays can bring in 9 runs. 7 innings left, but it looks like this game is a loss. Lose this and they will play the Twins, which is for the better. |
LOL, Jays just scored 3 runs. 8-3 at bottom of second inning. Lopez, pitcher for Tampa is like, "Okay, I can do better than Parsons." Cam Eden gets his first MLB hit. |
MG1 is like Skinny in the NFL thread ... |
Yup............ no shame. Don't give two shits about what others say. 10-3. No Guerrero, Chapman, Springer, KK, Kirk.......... looks like they never intended to win this game. I'm hoping for first round with Twins. Intend to watch this game till the bitter end. Might be the last home game this season. Go, Jays, GO!!!!!! |
It's official. Jays go to Minnesota. Everybody on a high.................. in all honestly, I don't think they deserved going into the post season. Clean slate. Maybe they'll get their collective shit together. Poor Hazel, having to come up with something meaningful to say. Also, so glad to see all Jays games will be on Sportsnet with Buck and Hazel. |
The Jays making the post season relied heavily on Seattle and Texas having very mediocre September records. With the wild card being best of 3 it's basically a crapshoot in baseball so the Jays have a chance of advancing if they manage to pitch and hit a couple of games. Beyond the wildcard I don't have much faith this roster has what it takes I think the bats go silent. |
Why would anyone have any hopes for the Jays after they just squeeked in with the help of Texas and Seattle? Do you have short memories from last year? Out in 2! |
Because we're fans...................... through thick and thin. Win or lose. Doesn't matter. Keeping the faith........... however blind it seems. |
You sound like a Leafs fan! BUT ... at least the Jays have won a championship within the last 50+ years. |

Game one of the Wild Card Series will start at 1:38 pm from Target Field. All three games (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) will start at that time. https://www.mlb.com/postseason |
Hate those early start times it'll probably be in the 7th inning by the time I get home from work |
Sportsnet broadcasters addressed this by saying it has to do with marketing. The good news is, they’re allowing Sportsnet to carry the Blue Jays’ games because of this………. I wasn’t really paying too much attention at the time. They did mention it wasn’t a diss against the Blue Jays and the fact the team is Canadian. Sounded fishy to me. Butt, if it means great coverage and people we’ve come to enjoy watching, I’m more than okay with that. |

You know Canucks used to be in the WHL and Pacific Coast League before joining the NHL, right? CKNW. After the games, listening to Jack Cullen Owl Prowl, then the really cool stuff late night……….. only the shadow knows……….. something like that. Good ol’ days. Orland Kurtenbach. <sp?> Westminster Bruins, ftmfw! Ernie Punch McLean, tee hee. Actually, before the Canucks joined the NHL, they were an awesome team. |
Game Day!!!! Blue Jays vs the Twinkies............ Target Field is known for the shadows. Also, it's very windy today in Minny. I am cautiously optimistic............. Twinkies have lost 18 post season games in a row. Vladdy and Bichette has never won a post season game. Gausman has a shitty time against the twinkies. Some say they know ahead of time, what he's going to throw................ Astros, anyone? |
Gausman walked a batter and then gave up a home run. Twinkies ahead 2-0 with one out in the bottom of the 1st. Wind is a big factor as anything hit up high will carry out of the park. Gausman, oh Gausman........................ he shouldn't have cut his hair............ Sampson and Delilah, gulolol. |
It's no longer how many strike outs Gausman has, it's how many walks he gives up. With shitty job of locating the plate, he might hit a batter. 3 game series, time to pull him while the lead is manageable. They have Gausman figured out. |
all of a sudden, dead silence on this thread ! |

I always blame the pitchers. Gausman pitching was a bad choice. The Twinkies have him figured out. BTW, Captain Obvious....................... you're just being a dick, yeah? |
Gotta hand it to Gausman. In the interview, he admitted it was not his best game. He went on to say, they had him figured out. That he is basically a two pitch pitcher. He knew what they were doing, but couldn't adjust. He did make adjustments, in the 4th, but by that time it was too late. They say pitching wins series. I don't think the Jays have the pitchers to win games. Yes, hitting would help, but when your team is up against good pitchers time and time again, your pitchers have to do their share. |
