2023 Blue Jays Spring training starts in two weeks............ can't wait to watch baseball again. Season starts March 30th with a three game series vs the Cardinals. Haven't been following them in the off season. All I know is they re-signed Bo Bichette and traded away Teoscar to Seattle of all teams............. I was hoping to see more of Moreno, but sadly, he is gone. |
Was hoping Bichette wasn't coming back let's hope he learned how to play shortstop in the offseason and not injure our best players. |
LOL, I'm not keen on the guy, either. He's the kind of guy who likes to take over. Still, a good hitter. |

Damn, forgot about the Kiermaier trade. At least the Jays won’t have to worry about anything being stolen, lol. |
First preseason game this morning at 10:00 am. Won’t be home to watch it, but gonna stream it on Sportsnet Now. I’m so excited. It’s baseball. What can I say? |
Jays vs Big Bad Yankees on right now. New season, new rules, new faces. Buck is in! Dat flow.............. Did I hear Jays' darling, Hazel Mae? Dunedin, ftmfw! Since 1977. |
Some major changes in rules for this season. No more shift and the pitch clock. Preseason to get used to the changes. Disengagement rule..........I'm confused already. EDIT: I thought I was seeing things, but it's true (no NAPA ad). The bases are larger. 18 inches from 15 inches. Much larger area. For player safety and to promote more stolen bases. Also, home plate is closer from first and third............... by three inches. All these changes affect statistics......... stolen base records just to name one. |
Fucking hell.............. no fair. I want to live in TO. First 15, 000 fans will get a Romano/Janzen bobblehead. So unique. So cool. https://www.mlb.com/bluejays/tickets...tions/schedule April 24th. |
https://www.mlb.com/world-baseball-classic Looking forward to this as well................ god, I love baseball. |
nice to see some fresh faces. Vladdy's sweet stroke. The full inning interview w Schneider and Keirmaier were both really good. new rules - pitch timer. it won't take them long to figure out how to exploit it. I do appreciate the possbility of a shorter game. 3 hours is just too long. Stoked for the WBC! good tide over to the regular season to watch some international ball. Going to have to pick a weekend to to out to TO to check out the new look rogers centre. It sounds like its going to be way less giant stadium way more small ballpark feel. Finally - popped over to the MLB store online to get one of those preseason mesh caps. Thought it could be my 2023 jays hat. 75 bucks + shipping! lol - hard pass. |
The stadium is going to be really nice, with the elevated bull pen and all. Keirmaier on the headset was really nice. He's well spoken and it was a bonus the Yankees provided him with all that time.......... a positive. It's one thing to hear broadcasters say he's excited about being on the team. He really is! Not a fan of Tim Mayza, but surprising is Kikuchi. It almost sounds as if the pitch clock is helping him focus. The pitch clock is not cut and dry. The umpire has the last say and it looks like they can, again, change the outcome of games. The player has to be in the box by a certain time and he has to be looking at the pitcher (not up at the sky or at some hot beverage server). Also, if a catcher is not ready......... it's all open to interpretation. They'll work it out, but it does shorten the game by 20 to 25minutes. I can see players getting pissed at the umpires. They've had pitch clock rule in the minors and it seems to be a positive change. |
Just finished listening to the Jays vs Braves game. TO lost 7-0 - yikes! Good news is........... game was over in 2 hours and 11 minutes. WOW!!! Less hot dogs sold today, gulolol. |
Don't think I've ever watched so many pre season games. This new pitcher, Tiedemann. A lefty throwing 99 mph plus.......... MLB debut today. Only 20 years old. |

Pretty good game. Nice variety of players. Bassit was good on the mic. Patented Chapman laser beam to Vladdy Ricky T absolutely blew away 3 batters. Like they weren’t there. I really wish I’d gone to see him pitch at the Nat last summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I haven't been to the Nat in a long ass time. Now that they are affiliated with the Jays, I think it's high time I go. "Take me out to the ball game................... one, two, three strikes you're out....... at the ol' ball game!" I really want to take in a game at Dunedin. Such a beautiful place. |
Playing the Pirates this morning. Manoah pitching. ERA of 0.88 last year. All Star in his first year. One intimidating pitcher. He'll hit you with the ball and with his fist, lol. Nate Pearson up next (warming up) TO ahead by one due to a balk. So many in the preseason. Result of pitch clock? Nice....... pitch clock shown at bottom of screen. I keep wanting to say pitch count, instead of pitch clock. Update on Home Field Renovation............. mon dieu https://bluejays.fanportal-mlb.com/b...n/construction |
18 - 5 for the Jays today. When their offence gets going, look out. Like a freight train. At one point, they were up 14-1. Damn. While Toronto is digging out of a snow storm(s), Dunedin, Florida is at 27 degrees with 60% humidity. I think that's cold for them............... |
Cot dam.............. Phillies are a team of very hairy players. Brandon Marsh aka Chewbacca and Josh Harrison. They all look like Phillie Phanatic, lol. Looks like Vladdy will not be taking part in the World Baseball Classic. Ohtani in for Japan. Canada has a good team. I've got all games scheduled to be recorded on PVR. Can't wait to see which two countries go head to head in the finals. |
Watched a few WBC games. Damn............. cheerleaders and girls in the audience dancing and prancing in short shorts in Taichung, Taiwan - Panama vs Chinese Taipei. Panama wins 12-5. Netherlands with Xander Bogaerts win 4-2 over Cuba yesterday. China vs Japan tomorrow at the Tokyo Dome. Ohtani in for Japan. Asian stadiums........... so wAnderfully noisy. They love their baseball. Interesting to see who's who in International play. |

 Must be nice to watch the Japan game in a pub over there right now. Should be a blowout against Korea. I'm watching a bit before I hit the bed. Probably going to be Japan, USA/Dominican Republic in the finals. |
So sad to hear Ji-Man Choi being prevented from playing for his country. He says he's ready to play, but the Pittsburgh Pirates said, no. The team owns you, since you are under contract. If I were management, I'd be like hell ya........... Ji-Man will remember this and play his heart out for his new MLB team. Instead, he probably has a little less loyalty to his new team. Unless, of course, the team doctors know something Ji-Man doesn't. Playing it safe, I guess. I can see it from the Pirates' point of view. I was up during the game this morning (2:00 am), but forgot about the game. Watching it now (PVR). Ohtani in every game. Keep forgetting, he's not just a great pitcher (100 mph), but also a damn good hitter. |

Two screens of girls just for you MG1, gulululu EDIT: Taiwan vs. Cuba at 8PM |
Pepper Grinder.................. https://fansided.com/2023/03/09/worl...r-celebration/ Started in St. Louis with Nootbaar, who just happens to be playing for Samurai Japan. Lol @ announcers, who have never seen those oversized grinders before. They sell them at Costco, lol. Grind it out, baby! Proper term for it is Pepper Mill. |
