I'm not convinced yet, but I'll make my judgement next week in LA.
The new Crown wagon thingy seems pretty cool though.

Crown Signia looks good, but wow they dumped the Harrier/Venza in a heartbeat. That didn't last long. It's only been like, 3-4 model years?

Pretty damn nice, kinda sad nowadays in Metro Van almost everyone going for Crossover/SUV though, this and the Accord are looking sharp.
Guess you can't argue against the functionality SUV/Crossover offers at the end of the day.

That weird hunchback thing where the cabin meets the trunk at the 3/4 view is ugly and they haven't fixed it. They blew up the Corolla design to Camry sized and it doesn't look good as they just stretched it on what looks like the old chassis, the trunk, the roof all looks like the current car.
I don't think that many ppl care about the drivetrain as V6 are rare, if people cared about power they'd have gone to the Europeans already. If I were to pick up a Camry I'd pick up the hybrid too and I think the manufacturer is echoing that. The 2GR is on it's last hurrah and really it's a 20 year old design now. Yes it was a Ward's best engine for a few years when it first came out but that's definitely not now.
Now if they put the 2.4t hybrid setup in and make it a TRD that would be cool, though I doubt it as it would eat into the Crown's territory. The Camry will be competing directly with the Accord in terms of a everyday mile muncher and adequate power with no sporting pretensions.

I read that this isn't actually all new, just a deep refresh. Probably explains the result of smashing the Prius front end in the same body. Usually car brand designs trickle down. Toyota doing the opposite and Prius will trickle up?

Come July/Aug 2024, toyota will just tell ya, bad luck, we halted production of 2024 MY, moving onto 2025 MY.

NGL the 3.5 V6 Camry is one of those things that we remember and think of fondly... but the reality doesn't match the expectation.
The chassis is quite playful and the steering quite communicate on eco tires but....
1st to 2nd gear upshift at redline drops you to 2500???? RPM, endless gear hunting, wheel hop for days, the overall comfort (short seat bolsters, mirrors that vibrate above 110, hella road and wind noise) make it a bust.
TRD damping is all wrong and it rides like it's on racelands lol, very little compliance.
ESP with Toyota pricing these days, if you can stomach the image, I would take any trim of Charger (incl the base V6) over a V6 Camry.
It goes around corners better, way more comfortable, & the trans/powertrain do logical things when you step on it.

Seems like it's going to measure in around 195in which is quite big for a 2 row SUV - I miss the days when this class of SUV was under 190in (even the CR-V is over 187in now). Not sure I'd have room to back this into my garage and still be able to open the rear hatch.

How is the v6? Sounds like a gas pig? Considering accord went 2.0t. I've never been amazed with 6 cylinders. Usually they are under powered and not that much more fuel efficient than v8s. But you don't really have the torque of v8. Most na seem to tap out at under 300hp, 260 tq. Which a 4 cylinder turbo has but doing for many years now.

When I was ripping 2019 XSE V6 around Vancouver/Richmond I was getting about 10L/km cuz you can't rip it that much since the transmission is slow (1st > 2nd at redline drops you in 2500rpm) and you get tons of wheel hop.
When I drive an IS350 RWD I get 14L/100km with its better grip & 8 speed trans with more sensical gearing.
Accord 2.0T with the 10 speed can be quite responsive but both the 1.5T and 2.0T are blowing head gaskets on regular.
My 5.0 Mustang got 14L/100km on regular lol with like 440hp.
