Is this a new vr porn platform? |
Think these will be out in Canada before WWDC in June according to an article I saw today. I'm curious to see how much better the tech is compared to a Quest 3. |
anyone here rocking a meta quest 3? shit is pretty dope! mixed reality is a game changer. @vansterdam604 if you wanna play :) |
I watched this review yesterday and also saw the NBA app on it (https://x.com/KevinOConnorNBA/status...512396529?s=20) and while I have no interest in getting one now it does looks pretty damn impressive. I could see in gen 2 or gen 3 that watching live sports on it will be pretty incredible. |
will AR glasses come back? i liked the idea of google glass but they scrapped it. or are VR goggles the thing now? $3500 to look like will.i.am though :lol :heckno: too much for my peasant ass |

Note the flexible main logic board. Conforms to the contour of the chassis to really cram in all the circuitry :). https://i.imgur.com/EPGvwWV.png https://i.imgur.com/SOPch9P.png https://i.imgur.com/NsDcSfv.jpg iFixit teardown: https://youtu.be/JVJPAYwY8Us?si=YlHlciXCZN9ZatRt |
Tried the Vision Pro at a friend's place last night. I've only used it for like 20min. But the overall impression is... meh. The AR aspect of it was nice. But I think with Quest 3 having similar capabilities. It's hard to justify 7x the price. Don't get me wrong. It's miles ahead of what Quest 3 quality is. But still... I just don't see the justification for it. The only cool thing is the hand/finger control. But I think it still needs some improvement. Overall, not something I'd drop 3.5k USD for. I'd rather have a high-end spec MBP instead of the Vision Pro. Maybe gen 2 or 3 would be the charm. |
I don’t see anything significant for porno or gaming/simulation aspect. That’s the only thing I used my quest 2 for. |

are there actually any really good games with VR? i can see how PSVR is popular b/c of the playstation's library, but can't think there would be an extensive great library. unless the intent is you run it off a powerful gaming PC and link your headset to it. |

VR Mini Golf feels just like real mini golf. |
The Quest 3 is a very solid entry into the VR space for those that want to give VR a go. The Vision Pro is a lot better in other ways but that's expected at 6-7x the price of a Quest. Quest is also pushing out an update this week to support spatial video as well so you won't need a Vision Pro to enjoy those 3D videos. In terms of games, I can get a decent cardio workout from Les Mills BodyCombat. I also picked up VR Mini Golf recently and it's a solid entry - it feels pretty close to real mini golf like Manic! said. One of the bigger developments recently is UEVR which is a PC mod that converts games built on Unreal Engine 5 into VR game. Doesn't work with every game but it's pretty slick to see play old games from a 1st-person perspective. |

There are a ton on sale on ebay. Seems like the most people who bought them where content creators or resellers. |
