I think I could accept 7x7.5M for Brock at the absolute most. 8x8M is where I walk away, as much as I like him. I think that would be more than fair. Apparently the last offer was 5x8M which he declined.

But as mentioned, at this point it's probably pride that will prevent him from signing anything with us ever again.

The team has good depth at defence now. Would Allvin consider trading a d-man for a forward?

What free agents are available to replace Boeser?

I heard news reports that Allvin had a talk with Petey to encourage EP41 to stay in Vancouver to train in the offseason. What if Petey says "No" to staying in Vancouver and goes back to Sweden during the offseason? :considered:

The No movement clause in his contract kicks in on July 1st.

Will the Canucks keep Petey or trade him despite his low trade value now?

They are not trading EP40. Allvin saying he encourage EP40 to stay in Vancouver this summer sums it up. If they want to win the cup with EP40, and Hughes.... I think they have no choice but to go all in to get some good top 6 forwards. Trade away your draft picks and top prospects.

Or they can trade EP40 and Hughes and get some very good draft picks in return and start the rebuild. That way Canucks can keep all their current picks, and top prospects.

Canucks thinking of keeping all their current picks and top prospects while trying to acquire top 6 forwards good enough to win the cup is a pipe dream at best IMO.

I see they have used Canucks socks(from practice) for sale on VanBase. who's in for a pair?

mikemhg 04-16-2025 11:20 AM

Used socks?

Maybe the rumors about the Aquilinis having financial issues might be true :lol

winson604 04-16-2025 12:13 PM

Just please don't do anything stupid like throw big money at a guy like Nikolaj Ehlers. The free agent class looks pretty bad this year.

teggy604 04-16-2025 12:19 PM

Between $10-$15 for used hockey socks. If they are in good condition. I guess it's better than throwing it away in the garbage.

A new pair cost around $30+ at sportchek.

I picked up a pair of pro stock gloves at the hockey shop in Langley for $100. They were new and from Ottawa senators left over stock. Goes for about $260 new for the consumer version.

spoon.ek9 04-16-2025 12:34 PM

why would you want used hockey socks..... i'm sure vast majority of you wouldn't want used NORMAL socks :lol

Hondaracer 04-16-2025 12:35 PM

I wish that those rumours about the Aquilinis' having financial issues are true. - would give Aquilini an incentive to sell the team!

New ownership and perhaps new management to build a legit championship contender. :considered:

AzNightmare 04-16-2025 01:30 PM

Canucks are having some issues with getting Willander signed. Rumors it's over the bonus structure in contract, or personal reasons like he wants to stay in school.

Nothing to worry yet, but also seems like he's not very eagar to play for the team. lol

mikemhg 04-16-2025 01:52 PM

Sounds like ownership is being cheap.

I just got back from McDonald's at Metrotown. Got me a cum burger. Was going to save it for the game, but was getting cold. Eating it while watching the Jays on PVR. Two bites and it's basically done........... so small. like, ............ nvm.

I will commit to watching the first and only Canucks game of the season. Probably fall asleep as usual, butt watch puck drop and the last few moments for sure Go, Canucks, GO!!!

Normal socks makes sense. Hockey socks is just more or less a cover that goes over the shin guards. Its not like buying a used cup or anything lol.

lots of ppl still buy used hockey gear. I remember shopping at sport junkies back in the day for gear. lol. Miss those wood stick days. You can pick up a new Sherwood stick for $20 bucks. All the sticks now are like $150 for low end and $450 for top of the line.

whitev70r 04-16-2025 05:50 PM

So Montreal was last Canadian team who clinched! Canucks and Flames are the only 2 Canadian teams not in the playoff .. how embarassing!

Last game for Tocchet? Bye Boeser, thanks, you provided a lot of highlights.

whitev70r 04-16-2025 09:00 PM

Woot ... guess it will have to be next season for Hughes to break record.

Apparently, he hit the post.

teggy604 04-16-2025 09:05 PM

Pat O' Neill retires after 45 years. Good luck to him. Would have been nice if he was able to celebrate a cup win with the Canucks.

MG1 04-16-2025 09:40 PM

Fricken hell.................. I missed the game. I totally fell asleep before the game. I forgot that I only record Blue Jays and Dodgers games now.

I was so tired. Probably from the Covid Vaccination i received yesterday. Oh, the gal who gave me the shot at Shoppers was so cute. UBC student and had the most clearest eyes, Ive seen. Like the girls on the Lindt commercials. She was good. Not like my doctor who gives me my monthly Vitamin B12 injections. Mind you this gal probably has lots of practice. Hundreds over the span of a few weeks. Any of you remember the huge lineups back when Covid scare was at its peak? I just went up to Shoppers and got in asap. Didn't even show the email or the code I was supposed to display. Just the Medical card and boom. Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am.

Oh, how'd the Canucks do? :troll:

whitev70r 04-17-2025 12:00 PM

Love 1st round playoffs, arguably the best round of hockey!
Some good series lined up!
Dallas vs. Colorado - Dallas the season favourite has been crapping the bed as of late.
Battle of Florida - TB vs. Florida.
Toronto vs. Ottawa can be interesting - Laffs should win another Round 1 but imagine if they didn't !!

They tend to struggle against physical teams, I wouldn't under estimate the Sens if I were them. Someone posted on twitter "Brady is going to go ape shit on the Leafs" :lol

He was quite the presence in 4 nations.

The match up I'm quite interested in seeing is actually Jets/Blues. Blues have been phenomenal since returning from the break. Jets have a lot to prove here.

Also wondering if Kings can finally make it past the Oilers after so many tries.

FLA/TBL, I'm guessing FLA comes out on top.
CAR should beat NJD.
WSH should beat MTL.
VGK should beat MIN.
DAL/COL seems 60/40 to me.

pastarocket 04-17-2025 01:31 PM

I pick the Avs to beat Dallas.

The Stars have not been playing well recently. Example, their meltdown to blow a 5-2 lead against our Canucks to lose 6-5 in OT. LUL

Then Jason Robertson suffered a right knee injury during a game against Nashville. He is wearing a brace. TSN reports that Robertson was in "a lot of pain" after the injury.

Stars are limping into the playoffs. Avs will beat Dallas.

He was quite the presence in 4 nations.

He’s got to keep his head on straight, which will be quite the challenge given how little appears to be between his ears.

He’s been on a full on mental meltdown since 4 nations getting political and trash talking about Canada and he hasn’t played since March 30th either due to injury so that’s concerning. He’s easy to goad into boneheaded penalties.

Hondaracer 04-17-2025 02:53 PM

There supposed to be some “major announcement” with the govt. as well as the Canucks next week?

Speculation it’s to do with a PWHL expansion

AzNightmare 04-17-2025 02:53 PM

If Canucks aren't going to win a cup anytime soon, maybe the women's Vancouver team can bring home a championship first.
