Sens win another! Reverse sweep is happening! KEKW Just have to rave about Ullmark some more. That dude barely moves and covers the entire net. I bet his heart rate is barely above resting |
lol wtf this is the first time I’ve seen the Korean grandma harmonica group :lol The crowd shots are even like wtf is this even though it’s the 3rd time lol |
Coilers are hammering the Kings! They can only hold them off for so long! This isn't like the Canucks pestering you with shots from the perimeter all night long. Kuemper will have to be perfect |

What is wrong with the team? I think that it has to do with team owner Aquilini. If I remember correctly, Aquilini told reporters one time that management had “full autonomy”. This press conference was during the time that Dim Jim, Jim Benning was the GM. There has been some speculation among some reporters that Aquilini has some input on team personnel. I don't know, I don't see or hear Aquaman at all ... so the fall back is 'it's the owners' ... I think we kind of debunk that. He is spending to the limit in terms of contract so can't blame him for that. He seems to be hands off with Rutherford but only he knows for sure, he seems to be the face of the franchise. I haven't seen Aquaman on any pressers with Rutherford. This time, the culture might be on Rutherford & Allvin ... or on just plain bad juju with Miller and Petey causing the whole room to be sick and tired of their juvenile spat. Or for Tochett, it might be, 'Hell, I want a team with a designated practice facility. This is an effin joke.' |
Current ownership started in 2004, so that's Nonis, Gillis, Benning, and now Allvin Gillis is the only one who had success, with 2 conference titles, 5 division titles, and 5 playoff appearances. Presidents Trophy twice, and he won GM of the Year in 2011 The rest have had 3 playoff appearances and that's it for the entire time Francesco Aquilini owned the team So maybe the owner is somewhat to blame? I don't know, but it's possible |
What specifically is Aquaman doing to cause this? If he is too controlling, (which is the common accusation of owners), then Rutherford and Allvin should be the ones quitting. If coach doesn't want to stay, is it on the owner? |
COILERS :awwyeah: Kueper needed to be perfect, but he was only like 98% perfect |

Ever since the LA Kings coach tried to dispute that goal, they have been choking so fucking hard it is unreal. Will they lose 4 in a row? If so, the defining moment would be that disputed goal while they were winning in game 2. |

I am suspicious the same thing happened with Boeser this year, but no proof. |

Why, I don't know, maybe just retardation. However if their goal was to harm the Ravens, then it worked because they lost in the playoffs by one score and had no run game WutFace And she is one of the shittiest owners in the league, so if Aquilini is anything like her, then he sucks. |

This is the classic sunk-cost fallacy. I can't necessarily say the team building strategy was poor, but clearly too much damage has been done now. Top C on teams don't just suddenly lose all their skill "overnight". Top 2 C on teams don't suddenly have an internal rift so bad it forces their team to trade at an all time low value. Vezina caliber goalies don't usually just self destruct and become one of the most injury prone players in the league. Canucks aren't getting a cup contending team via trades. You can't get good players by trading garbage, or expecting to get top players by trading your top players that are struggling. Even Hughes value is a bit questionable as the only reason Canucks would offload him is because he'll inevitably be going to NJ. Basically a 2 year rental for any of the other 30 teams. But as you know, without Hughes, this window is definitely closed already. I think the real question is whether the goal is to be a strong team that can legit contend for 3-5 year window or a "flash in the pan" kind of team. Without a proper rebuild, this team at best will be stuck as a bubble team, and maybe with some luck, get on a hot run to do some damage in the playoffs, only to vanish again for another decade. |
What would they have to give up to get 3 top 6 guys? |
I'm thinking that Trevor Linden can laugh at Aquaman's team now. Linden was the president of hockey operations when Dim Jim, Benning was the GM. Media reports mention that Linden's vision for building the team into a contender was through drafting players. I don't think that Aquilini saw eye to eye with Linden in terms of the drafting strategy. Maybe the big boss wanted his team to become a contender through methods that the owner thought would yield faster results? Signing free agents and trades. Aquaman had a different vision of building a contender. Therefore, Linden left the franchise. The thing is with some owners is the meddling of a team can be counter productive. Just because an owner is successful in building a business empire in other industries such as blueberry farms, construction, and ski resort development like Aquilini does not mean that he knows how to build a championship contending hockey team. Aquaman thinks that he knows the right strategy to build a Stanley Cup contender?? The results speak for themselves. The Canucks have not been in a Stanley Cup final in fourteen years! Who knows where the team would be if Linden stayed as team president and built the team through the draft. :considered: |
We're 1 of 2 teams without a practice facility, and the owner is a land developer, something is funny about that. Whether or not he meddles, I've been to Elisa a number of times and seen Francesco with Canucks staff. In fact the last time I was there he was having dinner with Tochett and other Canucks HO, and a hot piece of blonde ass. That might mean nothing, but who knows, maybe he's more involved behind the scenes than people realize. |
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/mone...d-down-canucks Geez... turned down 5x5. That's a lot of money for a coach with getting to 2nd round being his best playoff accomplishment. Tocchet really wanted to GTFO of here. |
I think anyone would gtfo with EP40 here. The dude needs to be told not to play video games and go work out. Because Management doesn't have to deal with the players constantly day to day. They think it's all fine and dandy. Lol |
^ so again, it wasn't the owners not willing to foot the bill. They did step up with $25M over 5, which I think is more than good, I would have thought maybe $4Mx3 or $4Mx4. And this owner of all owners know that if Allvin fires him after year 2, Aquaman is still on the hook until he finds a new job! So I don't think you can pin Tochet's dept to owner. |
Daniel and Henrik just completed the 10-k Sun Run at 36:06 and 37:10 respectively. Can you imagine EP40 doing the Sun Run? :lol |
