^ interesting. I was going to say that they better have another Western team because existing ones are all pretty well in the East. Article suggest that Seattle will get a team as well, still travel to play games is going to be beeiiiitch. |
As I’ve said before, I don’t see it succeeding. Or it will just be forced to remain to prop up the league. Not because it’s women, because no one cares about anything but the Canucks here |

Whereas in places like Florida, or Vegas, sure you have your fans, but there's also a ton of other major sports and other forms of entertainment to catch your attention. The hockey players are second tier compared to the other celebrities in town. |

If they want to expand PWHL sure. More options the better right? I think it will be tough for them in an already saturated hockey market like Vancouver. You can pay to watch the Vancouver Canucks, Abby Canucks, University hockey (UBC Thunderbirds or SFU), WHL (Vancouver Giants), BCHL (Junior AAA), PJHL (used to be Junior B, but now Junior A). Then if you want to watch free hockey for shits and giggles, just go to Scotiabarn and watch some Div1 beer league. |
Imagine if the Vancouver PWHL team wins a chip before the Canucks lol |
odds are pretty good, actually. there would only be 8 teams |
is there lingerie involved? |
any revelations at the Canucks post-season presser? |

Tocchet getting asked by press if there was anything they could have done to make EP40 and JT Miller get along. His answer was they did everything and nothing worked. It's been smouldering even before Tocchet got here. Which means management knew there was something still with EP40 and JT Miller and still signed EP40 to long term, or signed JT Miller and trade away Bo. Tocchet also said he is a JT Miller fan, then after said he was a Petey fan. But the way he said it, it kinda seems he just said Petey to not throw him under the bus. I think we all know EP40 is not Tocchet guy.... |
It's crazy these guys had so much beef after such a successful season last year. What could be so possibly bad that two professionals couldn't get over their bullshit? Wonder if the rumors were true and JT was going after Petey's sexual preferences, calling him a fag and such. |
^ my question and thought exactly. |
I got a different impression listening to Tocchet's comments tbh. He said would he like A "JT Miller" on his team. Like he said: "Of course I would!" Who wouldn't? You'd be crazy not to want a potential 100pt wrecking ball of a forward on ANY team. Unfortunately JT Miller is a cancerous emotional loose cannon... what can you do? Petey's apathetic attitude and meekness are its own issue in my mind, independent from Miller's problems. |

Dallas keep crapping the bed ... of course, they have Pete DeBoer as their coach. Battle of Ontario starts tonight. Travis Green got the Sens into playoffs ... kudos to him. |
Interesting comments from Rutherford about Hughes: “He (Quinn Hughes) has said before he wants to play with his brothers. That would be partly out of our control. In our control if we brought his brothers here.” - Jim Rutherford [emoji327]: Sportsnet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
That was a really shitty press conference by management. Threw the players under the bus, took no responsibility for anything and came about as close to tampering as you can get talking about the Hughes brothers and basically said yah inn2 years New Jersey is going to get him for free. If Hughes wasn’t already leaving town ASAP he sure as well will be now with reporters asking him about the veracity of what Rutherford said. So much to look forward to. Fuck me. Suffering never ends for this godforsaken team. |
Rutherford definitely seeming kinda senile and not knowing when to keep his mouth shut. Seems like the type who will play “hardball” with anyone until they ultimately just say fuck off and leave. Playing for the Canucks you don’t have that type of leverage lol |
And other tidbits: Ad nauseum now about JT Miller and Petey conflict https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/rutherf...-trade~3119196 Will not exercise option, which realistically is good move. You can contractually force someone to stay but will that be a good situation? No. I think Tocchet will take the Flyers opening https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/vancouver-can...deal-1.2292530 |
I took it as more of him basically saying they're going to try and trade for Jack. We need centers, and he said he'll need to trade for one. He's young, he's locked in at $8mil/yr. Only question is whether we have the assets to afford the trade. |
lol, some of the reporters were laughing, but Rutherford looked dead serious. Jack is signed until 29/30 at a very discounted $8mil AAV contract. Although he's giving me an impression of being a bit injury prone, but if he plays a full season, he's a consistent 90-100pt C. It would cost a lot to get him onto the Canucks. Then there's Luke... |
